GREATER Western Sydney's tilt at a first finals campaign has been dealt a serious blow with the news that ruckman Shane Mumford will miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury.

Arguably the club's most important player, Mumford will have ankle reconstruction surgery this week, after suffering the injury in the Giants' 42-point loss to Collingwood on Sunday.

Scans have revealed that the 28 year-old tore the deltoid ligament in his left ankle.

And we should be eyeing off who they pick this week as their preferred.
They also have a plethora of Tall Fwd options who could pinch hit in the ruck if they wanted to concede the ruck to us and go for more versatility around the ground.

But that would be madness. What Nic nat did to *essendon would be nothing to what Goldy would do to a 194-198cm forward in the ruck.

I personally think this won't happen, they started off with Giles , then Mummy landed on their door step asking for a home. they Must have some young talented ruck there in their mitts.

They've picked Marchbank and Steele so far. Neither are rucks.

Steele, meanwhile, will replace injured midfielder Stephen Coniglio (AC joint) after impressing since joining the club as a product of its talent academy.

The 19-year-old was recruited with pick No.24 in last year's draft after the Kangaroos bid their first selection for the Canberra product.

Their other Ins will be Corr as defender and Lobb or Phillips in ruck. Don't think they are going to throw their side around, but just go with like-for-like replacements.

What an absolute star! He is the best player in our side at the moment, hands down.

My belief is that Goldy is a commodity we can replace......Bellchambers,Mumford, White, Gorringe possibly looking for new homes next year.......
And if GWS are willing to part with pick 1 for him>>>>> Yes
Todd Goldstein is the greatest ruck man of all time.;)

Ahhhhhh.....
