Was all about freeing up a spot on the list that was otherwise going to be wasted because we have no intention of playing Giles for whatever reason.

No. He's from SA, where I'm from. Barossa Valley (his junior club was Kapunda) which is an hour out of Adelaide. He was recruited from Central District in the SANFL.

I wouldn't call it a failure but I don't think that he got anything close to the maximum out of his ability. He should not have had any trouble playing 100 games.

He played more games than them and unlike them had 2 full seasons at senior level so I'm going with yes
