Delisted #28: Elliott Kavanagh - Gone to play SANFL

Remove this Banner Ad

Wasn't given opportunity in the last 6 weeks. The fact he hasnt been delisted with Aylett and Dalgleish is just more stupidity from the club.
You know Round 23 did happen, right?

I know it was like a nightmare for you. What, with Stanton BOG, Kav playing and us winning without Hird. But it happened.

So your idea of opportunity was playing half a game in round 23 when we could barely field a side.

Lol. Dear God. This place has gone downhill the last few years.

I agree with Kelvin.

We throw Kav the odd game here and there without the extended game time that players need to settle. We then come to the end of the year and it might be that the VFL form which was not enough to get him games in-front of some average players might now save him because Melksham is moving on.

It's pretty clear that he won't get a gig next year so there is no point keeping him.

The list management plan seems to be one knee jerk reaction after another.

:eek::eek::eek:

No one from the club has mentioned anything yet anyway so there have been no knee jerk reactions.
8 weeks ago they where not banking on Melksham going, this has only happened in the last 2 weeks.
No point delisting everyone right away until the list situation is clear with blokes wanting to be traded.

As far as keeping him goes it will depend on how much they rate what is left in the draft, if they think he can improve in the areas needed despite not getting a look in then you have another look for a year. Who knows it may be less of a risk.

Would mind you opinion on the extent to which the club managed to go through a 'blooding the kids phase' this year without managing to learn one useful thing about the list that it did not already know.

Your opinion that they learn anything of course.
Obrien can find the footy but still needs work.
Kav , body size wrong for his ideal role, has been tried outside but not good enough.
Browne, unlucky he got knocked out and form in the late season patchy until the finals.
Hams injured.
Dalgliesh injuries.
Aylett injuries.

Thread title needs more "whipping boy 2.0"

Whipping boy used to be a sort after spot in ancient times. If you where the Prince's whipping boy you ended with a title , land and money.

Named to represent us in the Grand Final sprint.

Lord knows why.

Give him one last chance to unearth some hidden speed he didn't know he had and keep his spot on the list?

Of course; the answer's quite simple - the selector for this gig at the EFC who shall remain unnamed for the sake of decorum had the 13 CABS Grand Final Sprint submission page open in one tab, and Netflix in the other; now, this person is a particular fan of Inspector Morse and wanted to see what other fine work the late John Thaw had churned out in his lifetime and discovered the popular legal procedural Kavanagh QC, but made the rookie error of mixing up those tabs.

So now Kavanagh's in the Grand Final sprint, and that person is forced to watch White Colyer, starring Matt Bomer.

Can see how this plays out at the trade table.

Sydney: What do you want for Kavanagh?

Dodoro: Billings.

Sydney: Kav hasn't done s**t and we don't even have Billings.

Dodoro: He's the next Judd.

Sydney: Billings?

Dodoro: No, Kav.

Sydney: WTF?

Dodoro: He was in the GF sprint FFS, he is gas!

Sydney: 3rd round pick because I'm feeling generous.

Dodoro: Billings.

Sydney: * off.

Dodoro: Hard to deal with!
