Just to fire the speculator 9000 for a moment, Ryder and Dempsey were close friends (and could well still be close friends for all I know, I'm just curious), Dempsey was reported to have one foot out the door mid way through the year, Mrs. Ryder reportedly didn't get along with the other wags, Ryder has now walked out in what seem like pretty ridiculous circumstances and now Dempsey pops up at Cyril's wedding in Darwin instead of going to Ryder's.
