Yep, I do think Hanley is slightly overated due to his rich run of form recently but regardless, Brisbane would spit in our faces if we asked for Pick 4 plus one of Redden, Rockfliff or Hanley. Just pick 4 for Ryder would be overpaying I would think.

Ryder was a pick 7 and is now one of the best rucks and most talented players in the league. Yet somehow an 18 year old kid is worth more than him because he has a good carnival?

I'd argue Hanley's "run of form" is everyone catching up to what he's been doing for two years. Probably ironed out the susceptibility to a tag this year, but his 2013 was AA quality as well.

Is Paddy worth pick 4?....lets think about it for a sec....Gumby, Watts, Kruiser, Morton, Luenberger, Patton, Scully, Tambling etc. I am sure there heaps of others you can think of that were high picks. Having said that, it seems choosing a mid is a little less risky than talls.

I saw someone on here say he isn't the 2nd best ruck in the league, but he is the best '2nd' ruck in the league, ie if they chose an AA squad to reflect the typical make-up of a side in 2014, you'd have a specialist ruck/forward, a tagger, etc. Ryder would have walked it, in that case.
