I got that, but he's not, in the slightest. Hence his ability to play smaller than his height.
He's not tall and skinny? He's certainly tall as you've pointed out and in comparison to Mackenzie he is skinny. Not sure how being lanky affects your ability to play smaller than your height, especially negatively.

Tall and skinny are only part of definition of lanky. Lanky also refers to someone who is gangly and ungraceful in their movement. It's these that Schofield is not - which is evident when he quickly changes direction and also during his runs from the HBF.

Given its pre season and AFL news is pretty slow i thought i will show some of the beard's off season twitter antics. Cannot guarentee any will be interesting but gives a very minor insight into some of his offseason antics.

Will Schofield
After ranking number 1 in the competition for points generated from intercept possessions from round 1-5, Schofield copped a two match suspension for a behind the play hit on Jack Riewoldt in round 5. His output wasn't the same after his suspension, ranking just ninth at the eagles for intercept possessions from round 6 onwards and generating just 27 points from these - ranked equal 17th at the club. He was often used on the opposition's second or third-most dangerous forward with Jack Riewoldt in round 5 his only major match-up of the year. He rated elite for a general defender with four spoils per game and only 12% of spoils resulted in an opposition possession - the lowest percentage of the top 50 defenders for spoils during the H&A season.
