Re: Western Bulldogs steal a bargain in AFL national draft with Michael Talia

What article?

Must say. Talia looks a good build already. Could play some footy in 2012 without a doubt.

He will have to find some shorts first before he can start playing games:)

Sam Landsberger - Leader - 25 November

IT is a wonder Western Bulldogs recruiter Simon Dalrymple escaped detention and heavy police questioning at Sydney airport. Dalrymple and his Dogs offsiders committed theft at last night's AFL National Draft, stealing touted first-round key defender Michael Talia at the bargain price of No. 39.

Fantastic article!

What a great article, so glad our players were quick to get messages of support to him....I can see him playing a game or two next year... and many more after that.

Re: Western Bulldogs steal a bargain in AFL national draft with Michael Talia

I think its obvious his kicking is bad because of technique, which is good. Training around a proper club environment with proper development he should be able to fix his ball drop pretty quickly, which will then fix his kicking a fair bit too.

Other than that he looks great and very similar to Lake, took some good marks!

Re: Historic guernsey is back in the family

Heard Michael Talia speak at the bulldogs christmas party very confident well spoken young man. Well built for 18 and love the nickname the boys have given him Genna Talia couldn't stop laughing when he told the crowd .

Six months after being drafted the pure emotion is starting to sink in for key defender Michael Talia as he walks the halls of Whitten Oval wearing the number 32 on his back.

Despite growing up a Western Bulldogs supporter, Talia is only beginning to truly understand and appreciate the passion his grandfather, 1954 premiership player Harvey Stevens, has for the Bulldogs Football Club.

Looks like he'll be a very strong player in the future, was also an All Australia at Under 18s
I'd back him to do that AFL level in the future, would of loved if the club had his brother to

Didn't see the whole match, but it seemed like he played beautifully against Brisbane. A great pick up and seems to sneak under the radar a little bit here on BF.

The benefits of extra weights and running sessions: Time is right for Talia

"Young key position player Michael Talia has emerged as a key contender to replace Brian Lake in the Western Bulldogs' backline"

It's amazing to see a player who does everything right.. but just does not have any kind of kicking technique, has managed to kick a couple of beautiful 50-55 meter goals... (one in afl) somehow...
It's hard to change kicking technique once you have it ingrained in muscle memory.. but I hope they can do it with Talia. Wouldn't like to see his talent as a defender wasted.
