Interesting.

Were they tipped to pick him up?

Re: Welcome Cameron Pedersen

Another big defender?
2 lots of Car Keys, Grima, Robbie, Hunter(although smallish)....Surely no way known is Hansen going into defence any time soon.
yeah looks like they are happy with how the forward line is shaping up

They have certainly decided to leave no stone unturned finding that extra key defender.

Well done and welcome Cameron

Re: Welcome to North - Cameron Pederson

yes most had him penciled in at pick 1 in the PSD as i had mentioned in the other thread but they opted to take ablett here so no-one else could
haha I think they might get their fingers burnt on that one.

Re: Welcome Cameron Pedersen

Big full back from suburban Melbourne with a season for Box Hill. Will be 24 by the time the season starts. Interesting choice to say the least.

We seems to be intent on having enough options as to not have to use Thompson in a KPP role.

By age and dimensions, Pederson would appear ready to go if good enough.

the list is well balanced and brad said we would go best available and pederson was definetly the best available at our pick

Re: Welcome Cam Pederson

Good luck to Cam at North. As a Hawk fan I would have been happy to have him on our list.

Can you please describe what sort of player he is? Obviously, a big full back, but what are his strengths and weaknesses? Hawks do need a defender, yet they overlooked him.

Re: Welcome to North - Cameron Pederson

Excellent choice. If Pederson can settle at fullback, then Grima can come out to CHB and Hunter can play that damaging rebounding role.

There is now a much greater likelihood of Hansen playing forward.

Robbie Tarrant would want to show something early in 2011.

Re: Welcome to North - Cameron Pederson

The kid has North bloodlines.

Apparently his grandfather played for North back in the 70's, but I can't find anthing in the records.

http://www.afl.com.au/tabid/208/default.aspx?newsid=87107

Len Peterson played 8 games for North in 1967/68 and Robbie Peterson played 79 games for North in 1968 and 1970-74.

It must have been his mothers father.

Re: Welcome to North - Cameron Pederson

Gee his video looked good. Most times you get an edited version of a season highlights, but his were all in the one game. Looks very agile and can play in a variety of positions, including forward and ruck.(although you probably wouldn't consider him at AFL level)

That seems to be the case, unless there are thoughts on having him as a flexible KP player.

Re: Welcome to North - Cameron Pederson

Would be very interested to hear Bon on this particular selection. 24 year old full back, when we already have Delaney in similar mould is interesting to say the least.
