Newcastle should be proud. That's a real model on how to engrain yourself into a community.

Sydney's crowds will continue to decrease, and even with ADP, they'll probably average about 14,000ish. The Victory have a large population, a match-going culture, and success behind them. Even last year, weren't the Jets notching 13k on average?

Adelaide needs to do the same. They just seem to have a pretty thin-or-thin fanbase, because their crowds are always around the same mark: Win or lose, streak or tough. Selling another 1,500 memberships would be enough to get them to the 10k mark. How hard can it be? They have a bigger population than Newcastle, and will no doubt make the finals this year, and could very well win the title.

Wellington are the same. I think selling off two or three games could do well. Someone was telling me how Dunedin is essentially a uni town, and Wednesdays are huge there. Perhaps they could take advantage of that? Offer a "bring a mate, get a free beer" promo. Probably not very PC, though...

Adelaide remains a mystery to me, top of the table and haven't managed 10,000 to a home match this season, i've heard all sorts of stories dating back to the departure of Coolen and people boycotting because they didnt sign Flores, whatever the reason is im sure they will pick up now.

Even when they were dreadful and won the spoon they got 12,000 on a regular basis. I dont know why those people wouldnt be back now tbh.

Nice to see Heart have increased prices of tickets for the Derby. Child $15, Con $21, Adult $30, Family $65 for Victory end and Cheapest GA Seats at Swan St.
Going by normal Cat C/GA at Docklands/Swan St (inc. Derby) prices at Victory games it's Child $5, Con $11, Adult $20, Family $45.
Big increase. Typical of what you'd expect from that mob.

Those prices are about the same as glory prices.

Victory prices at AAMI Park are the same as Heart for normal games - Adult $25, Concession $15.

General Admission Adult price for this year's derby at Etihad was $28.90.

What's the issue with that? Smaller capacity ground. And most English clubs do the same, as it's a pretty stock part of economics. There is simply more demand for a derby ticket than is for a Mariners game.

Though, the Heart really need to cheapen their ticket sells. They're not helping the small crowds by charging what they are.

I think that Aami Park handles the prices for tickets, but I could be wrong.

Wouldn't that mean it is the perfect day to go?
Only one stand is in shade at Gosford for a 5:30pm kick off. The rest of the ground is in full sunlight. After watching Melbourne play Gold Coast in 40 degree heat 2 year ago, it isn't a good feeling if you can't get into shade.

Wellington was same old cold gale that rips through that ground. Unless its a sunny day Nux fans would rather watch it on tv.

Wasn't it cloudy for the whole match though? Still hot no doubt, but no sunlight factor.

We've reached one-third through the season. Currently the season average is up by an impressive 27% from 2011/12. Let's have a look at each of the clubs' averages compared to last season..

Percentage Increase/Decrease (11/12 - 12/13)
Melbourne: +17.5%
Sydney: +70%
Brisbane: +20%
Newcastle: +18%
Central Coast: +6%
Perth: +15.5%
Adelaide: -4.5%
Wellington: -8%
Heart: -22%

**If you compare Gold Coast's average (11/12) compared to Western Sydney's you'll find a +227% increase in crowds. This obviously has contributed a lot to the season average too.

Are you comparing end of season figures 11/12 to current figures 12/13?
