The only upside with tonight's match being postponed til April 15th is Archie Thompson will now play his 200th A-League match at AAMI stadium in front of his home supporters on March 1st.

Love him or loath him, few if anyone has done more for the promotion of the A-League than Archie Thompson.

Dwight Yorke, Robbie Fowler, Shinji Ono.........

As far as Aussies go maybe, although Kewell, Emmo and even Aloisi have created as much if not more fanfare despite having less game time.

Great names all of them. But how many of them did it for 10 years and 200 games in the A-League like Archie Thompson has?

None but in terms of promotion of the league people overseas and even Eurosnobs here wouldn't rate Archie. The league has become more mainstream since the likes of Fowler, Kewell and ADP came along.

However he and guys like Corica, Dodd and Muscat did the early yards.

As a player at this level, hats off to the ****er. Has caused many an opposition fan sleepless nights.

You are missing my point. Archie Thompson put the game on the map here.

Early days of the A-League he was one of the very few players the yet to be converted locals even knew by name. In Melbourne in particular, he became the face of A-League soccer and he has remained so for almost the full 10 years.

This round was to be all about Archie's 200th game. But we are happy to wait an extra round and have him share it with us here in Melbourne. Many of us have been with Victory from day one - as has Archie.

Well played Archie Thompson :thumbsu:

This is just another one of those games where we will keep creating chances and probably only end up equalizing in the 90th minute to rescue a point.

* me. Like things couldn't get any worse and Malik goes off injured. Of course since we don't have a replacement CB we have to play Elrich in the middle.

Just woeful. The talent on that field we have out there tonight and they have looked ******* shithouse.

SOMEONE DO SOMETHING!!!

Pretty stinking half on a stinking hot night. Cant understand the vitriol mind you, that gets called offside (which it wasnt) and we are geniuses. Euge had to catch it IMO.

We will peg it back though. Poor Ozzie can't take a trick

In fairness how many CBs do we need ?? Elsey, Boogs and Malik injured yes but with 23 squaddies 4 is enough.
