A question on tagging

What year was it that the AFL started cracking down on midfield blocks and hard tags? Was it '07 or '08?

Was it last year? I remember the Eagles kicked up a fuss because Kerr was being severely man handled.

certainly hasnt really been cracked down on.... except for a week after say a soft player like Cotchin gets destroyed and cries so the next week you aint allowed within 10 metres of him.
