The Buckley situation didn't bite us on the arse, poor management and insufficient support in the football department (along with some terrible luck RIP Millane) bit us in the arse. The two just happened to coincide.

Nobody was "offended" about Beams statement or took it remotely serious - we all had a good laugh and realised that Beams was was just having some fun. That's because unlike so many Richmond supporters, we are secure about where Collingwood is at and where they're heading.
 
Regardless as to what Adam did and didn't say, I think he just got a big reality check as to how many people actually take notice of what you say down in Melbourne (or Falls Creek for that matter), especially as a Collingwood player.

If he had have said GWS' list was better than Richmond's, or that our list was better than Richmond's whilst he was still a GWS player under contract, no one would've even blinked.

It's just bloody Richmond, they have quickly become my most hated club. Typical KB, logic or reason doesn't come into his argument that Adam obviously meant he thought we had a better YOUNG list, oh sorry KB, I didn't realise losing 3 elimination finals in a row qualifies you as world beaters...

Obviously a fair few posters would've laughed it off and just said "lol beams and the bears, you really are deluded" but I dropped in after that interview for beams and many of you were absolutely spewing over it. So saying that it didn't happen and then tying that to the stability and future of Collingwood isn't the best thing to do haha. Not having a crack at you, but from what I saw, offense was taken by many.

Unfortunately this man speaks the truth. Many of us did laugh off Beams' comments, but there was much salt on this board after his comments too.

All? No, there was plenty of people annoyed at his comments.
 
The difference between the Beams and the Treloar comments is the reaction from the media.When Beams said that Lions were closer to winning a premiership than Collingwood-essentially the same thing that Treloar said recently-there wasn't a word of criticism in the media.Yet when Treloar said the same thing about us,there was a storm of media criticism,especially from the usual suspects in the Richmond media mafia.

The upshot of all of this,is that it's okay for a player to talk up the prospects of the club he is joining,as long as that club doesn't happen to be Collingwood.
