Will be at the game today. Should be a cracker

Game time is 4:40pm, but it's actually 6:40 or 7:40pm.

Wish the AFL would list all times in the Melb/SYD time zone for consistency. So much easier to track rather than having to look at where a game is being played at then do a local time conversion.

The AFL look to US leagues for just about all their ideas, this is one that practically can't * up.

It's only difficult for the people who can't count.

Port always play Subi well. Going out for lunch today and should be back in time for the game, hoping it is a nice way finish off the day.

Twilight games should be banned. This waiting around business is nonsense. Also, it looks like a perfect day for an afternoon match.

Just add 2 hours or even better download the footy live app and it automatically changes the time to suit the time zone you live in.

Then everyone that isn't in Melb/Syd have to do the exact same thing. Can't always just please those in the eastern states.

Pretty sure computers were invented so people didn't have to do things like timezone conversions. AFL website could easily infer where you are located and do the conversion for you.

I'm assuming the AFL just risk-managed the scheduling, and thought an afternoon game in early April in Perth may turn out a very hot day.

Got to remember they just can't change the scheduling in the days leading up to it.

******* joke 30 min delay by channel 7. sellout, on 7mate so no news follow in excuse. normally would stream or go to fox footy tv but at folks place with crap internet. and they wonder why free to air is dying a slow death.

I know. The premier league website does it well. But the AFL website doesn't. So at a glance, the AFL match centre banner states this game starts at 16:40, StK vs GWS at 13:10, & ADE vs NM at 14:50. But that's not really correct. They're 3 different timezones.

EDIT: the match centre banner on the AFL website even stated prior to yesterday's game (and still does) that the SYD vs ESS match begins at 17:35. How freaken amateur can you get?

Then everyone that isn't in Melb/Syd have to do the exact same thing. Can't always just please those in the eastern states.

But you folks need to do it anyway, and for several time zones like us in the eastern states.

Having it standardised in the one timezone makes it consistent, and those not in AEST will know that they need to account for the same time difference for every single game rather than having to check where a game is and then consider 3 or 4 different timezones as we all had to this week.

American sports use the most populous Eastern Timezone and it works well.

Anyhow, looking forward to this game. Really enjoy what Port have been doing on the field last couple of seasons. Here's hoping they keep it up.

Any website updated since 2008 should have automatic timezone converters. Except the AFL/Telstra it seems.
