There’s no denying that you have to have Tommy Rockliff in your team at some point. He just racks up so many points and while Brisbane have strengthened their midfield with the addition of Dayne Beams and Allen Christensen, Rockliff will still be registering big scores.

But $775,000 is a hell of a lot of money to spend on one player, even one as reliable as Rockliff. A better bet is to wait for the first few rounds, even a few 100s are going to bring his price down to a more manageable level.

Onfield Brsibane will be hard to predict, but in Fantasy terms, there’s a wealth of talent to be mined. Just be wary at what price.

GET THEM IN

Dayne Beams (MID $609,000)

Beams is a proven Fantasy performer and at that price, good value. His decision to move north shows he’ll be committed to his footy 100 per cent and the results will speak for themselves.

Daniel Rich (MID $268,000)

One of those players pretty much everyone will have and for good reason. At this price Rich is just too good a prospect to pass up. The introduction of the new talent should also take some pressure off Rich, who is shaky when presented with a hard tag.

NOT WITH A BARGEPOLE

Mitch Robinson (FWD/MID $469,000)

Not at this price, no way. Especially given he’ll get himself suspended at least once. Can see why the Lions brought him on for onfield reasons, but you’re mad if you have him in your Fantasy team.

Matthew Leunberger (RUCK $277,000)

The emergence of Stefan Martin in the second half of last season means that big Leuy is no longer guaranteed the number one ruck spot. He’s priced awkardly too. There’ll be better value for a second or bench ruck.

WORTH A PUNT

Sam Mayes (DEF/MIF $381,000)

If the Lions improve onfield, then Mayes should be a very good bet at this price, especially with his dual position status. Maybe not from the get go, but keep an eye on him.

Allen Christensen (MID/FWD $440,000)

If he’s fit and firing, should be an absolute steal for your forward line, provided he can stay fit and focused. That’s the key though – STAYING – fit and focused.
