Maybe richmondin black short and eagles in white shorts?
So that way only eagles have white ?

Would all be resolved if the eagles administration would grow some balls and go back to what fans want which is royal blue wings, with yellow version as clash alternative....
But until whoever it is in the hierarchy who likes tripanel leaves the club, tri panel will forever remain....
White isn't the issue. Otherwise Adelaide, Brisbane, Freo, Collingwood Geelong, GWS, Hawthorn Melbourne, North, Port, St Kilda and Sydney wouldn't wear white against the Eagles' tri-panel with no issues.
The issue is the navy vs black, and the fact that to remove a clash the Richmond top adds more yellow, which is the other major colour of the WCE guernsey.
If switching shorts were to fix the problem I'd be all for it, but it still leaves two teams in mostly navy/black kits.

Sure, Eagles could wear something else, but it's their home game. Richmond need to lift their game. One of the last ineffective clash tops going around.

Would the yellow guernsey with black sash solve this clash issue with west coast ?

Red is light. Maroon is dark. No clash.
Not exactly a stark contrast.

I don't want to watch the team in brownish-red and a bit of blue and gold run around against the team in red and a bit of yellow.
I want to watch the team in in brownish-red play the team in white. Why make life hard. We're so big on making sure umpires, runners, doctors stand out like sore thumbs, so players don't confuse them as being team-mates or opposition players.

This argument that pops up, "you can tell Essendon from Richmond coz one has a red sash and white shorts on" is crap. Is that a player from my team? Let me check if his guernsey is made by Adidas or BLK, hang on....bugger, he's passed the ball off already.

Brisbane have a blue bar on the back and a very blue front. It's easy to tell them apart.
From the front.
On the back, not so good. Even with the blue bar. Teams have clash guernseys this century. We therefore don't need to look for a blue bar or hope for the player to face us to see the side with more blue instead of maroon. We can look at two teams in totally contrasting kits and just watch footy instead of looking for intricate details on the kits to help us tell who is who.

Logical thing to do is to reverse the colours. They have for the VFL team, but not the AFL. Hopefully next year.

Will work for all except West Coast's tripanel, because you'll have West Coast in a guernsey that is over 1/3 yellow on the front and almost 1/4 yellow on the back, vs Richmond in all yellow. As I've now said thrice on this page of the thread.

Exhibit A: Exhibit B:
2623bme.jpg

Exhibit A shows Navy vs Black - which is a clash unless you're Carlton v Richmond/Essendon/Collingwood.
Exhibit B shows how much mutual yellow there is if Richmond were to wear an inverse yellow with black sash guernsey. If the AFL let that in they may as well not make North/Geelong wear clash when they play each other, and just let them both wear white tops.
