I was surprised by our voting as I thought Hill was easily one of the most influential players in the game, particularly when we took it away from them in the second Q. It does seem sometimes as if he one of the first to be picked on when he has a down day and the last to be recognised when he plays a good one.

It appears Sandi got 4 votes from one coach and nothing from the other. Same for Stephen Hill. Which is a similar situation to last week. Interesting.

There's a tiny bit of discussion in the votes thread on this. Most saw his game as BOG, but many, myself included, saw it as good, but not the stand out best for all sorts of reasons. Yes he dominated the ruck contest, but most of that was in the second half when the undersized, much less seasoned GC rucks were all but done in conditions that were heavy and always going to penalise the athletic type more. So he did well, was a key player, but really he did what he's supposed to. The real guns that won the game were the midfielders who fed off his work, and buttered up through the heavily contested stuff. Mundy, Barlow, Fyfe, with support from the running players like Hill, Mzu (unlucky) and Duffield.

Seems like the Coaches agree.
