AFL's rubbery white shorts policy

Because Eddie wants them in their "traditional" jumpers when they play each other.

*rolls eyes*

If the Pies wore their "traditional" jumper - which is mainly white - and wore white shorts - they'd never clash with Carlton, Richmond or Essendon - Home or Away. Silly Ed.

Geelong makes people confused because they have a light home and a dark away. But it's not really hard to get your head around. Maybe what confuses people the most is the uniforms being known as "Home" and "Away" kits, maybe if they had titles of "Light" and "Dark" or "What we wanna wear all the time" and "What we have to wear when the opposition clashes" people wouldn't be confused.

This.
There should be a primary uniform. Which for some clubs may have white, blue, black, yellow, whatever shorts, and matching socks.
And a secondary uniform, which needs to be essentially the opposite in shading, if primary is dark, secondary is light. And vice versa. Some clubs may wear the primary most if not all games depending on what they have. Others will have a more 50-50 split across the year.

1. People get confused becuse they believe the away team should always wear the white shorts.

2. Geelong has three "kits" - white with navy shorts, white with white shorts, and navy wtih navy shorts. The navy jumper is known as their clash jumper, as it's only worn in games where the white jumper would clash. It's not an away jumper and I've never heard it called that.

3. I'm pretty sure most people understand which jumper teams want to wear most of the time and which jumper they want to only wear when they have to.

You're either a bad troll or an idiot.

I was only asking for clarification regarding the rules, sorry if simply answering a few questions without insults and condescension is beyond some of you.

people in europe and america would laugh at australia if they saw this discussion going for 3 years and 76 pages.

It was the way you put it.

The rules keep changing, currently the rules are that the team in the dark jumper wears dark shorts and the team in the light jumper wears white shorts.

Unless Richmond, Essendon, Collingwood, Hawthorn and Carlton play each other.

It's like seeing Collingwood people complain about away jumpers. Everywhere else it is just accepted, hell the English FA tells club they must have two alternate strips to avoid clashes.

been saying this for years the magpies changing jumper has caused more clashes ... add the saints and port to your list

eddie has no respect for traditional jumpers !!

So just what is the AFL clash jumper policy?

Adelaide vs Richmond - Navy with Yellow vs Black with Yellow - Dark vs Dark - Richmond wear Yellow Clash Jumper
Collingwood vs Carlton - Black with White vs Navy with White - Dark vs Dark - Carlton wear Navy?????

If Eddie doesn't want Carlton in their Clash jumper surely Collingwood should wear their traditional White with black jumper.

EDIT: Also surely Port should be in the White jumper if they are wearing the white shorts.

FFS AFL why do you make something so simple so ******* difficult?

Eddie doesn't know what he's talking about. He thought Richmond's yellow would clash with the Crows' three yellow hoops last night.

The clash jumper policy has a rider for Big Victorian matches like this.

Seriously? A yellow stripe on a dark jumper is a bigger problem with a yellow stripe on a dark jumper than a dark stripe on a yellow jumper is. Eddie is a moron.

He just disagrees with the Big Vic teams wearing clash tops. That's for the interstate ring-ins.

Notice how Eddie has no problem with the royal stripes on NM's jumper clashing with the royal on the WB jumper, or the white hoop on WB clashing with the royal on NM...oh yeah coz there's no clash jumper.
