Did anyone else watch 9 News Adelaide on Saturday??
The report for The United v Victory game was pathetic.
Warren Tredrea was reading out the report and there were so many errors.
First he called Cirio, "Therio". Then he said that Jironimo scored in the 2nd half before Half time. WHAT??
The worst though was when they showed footage of fans walking out of the stadium and the voice over was "Thankfully outside the ground there was no sign of ugly clashes that marred previous United v Victory games. The heavy police presence keeping the rival fans in check".
WHY THE **** do they need to mention that. If there was no trouble, why do they have to mention that???

Well, technically he's correct here. The correct spanish pronunciation for Cirio is "Thirio".
I think it's pronounced 'Sirio'?
The Journalist that wrote this tweeted this:More pointless made up rubbish journalism, getting real pissed at troll attempts at the game like this article.
Sweet night turns sour as Reds and Victory fans go feral at Coopers Stadium

IT'S all fun and games until someone gets hurt.
That's a line that many of my high school teachers spruiked to me many years ago and it seems apt in describing the fierce club rivalry between Melbourne and Adelaide on Friday night.
Like high school, it was juvenile, often hilarious but it reached a point when Melbourne struck the back of the net for a second time when the games turned far more serious.
I was perched in no man's land - between the two side's fans.
Throughout the match it was the regular taunting you would see at any reserves football match but when Adelaide lost its lead, its fans lost their cool.
After hurling abuse at the Melbourne crowd with its 2-0 lead in the first half, when Melbourne struck two quick goals in the second, Adelaide fans were dumbfounded,
The laddish singalongs soon turned to disgust and hellish profanities when projectiles began landing in the Melbourne Victory crowd.
Bottles of water, plastic handclappers flew overhead but it was the sound of coins hitting chairs when things became all too serious.
After the game the fans congregated out the front of the venue but with more than 70 police at hand on bikes, horses and on foot, there wasn't much room for the tomfoolery we have seen in the past.
The simple fact is there were people looking for fights.
They said it to my face - disgusted that the Melbourne fans were almost given a police escort from the ground.
It's mob mentality. Strength in numbers with hundred's of young men flexing their muscles but I've seen worse at Adelaide home games with countless fights, flares and bottle throwing.
At the end of the night one young fan was quick to approach me upon realising I was with the media.
"If you think this is bad - you should see what happens when travel to Melbourne," he said.
If that's the case, there's no danger of me cheering along the Reds in Melbourne in the coming months.
Won't provide a link search google for proof.
Totally agree with everything in this post. Behave appropriately and no one will have any excuse to have a go at you and tarnish the whole sport. It really isn't that hard.WSW fans are the biggest ******s in the A-league. "Who we sing for?? We sing for ourselves!" That's what they should be chanting because if they really cared for their team then they would actually watch the game instead of going to games and boosting your ego by trying to act like some tough European hooligans! **** OFFFFF! The Poznan (or whatever it's called) isn't cool, it's stupid. Great way to respect your team by turning your back to them at the most important time of a game.
This is legit the first time that I'm not angry that the media have reported this, because this time it's a legit story! The footage of them both throwing stuff at each other is disgusting.
To say that this crap doesn't happen at other games though is absolute crap. Football is still a safer family environment than both Cricket and AFL! Some comments on the Herald Sun article are laughable!!

Unfortunately, the core of the wsw support are comprised of croats from sydney united, some of the most volatile and nasty elements sourced from one of the world's most violent and nasty places. Such behaviour is the norm and natural for these people.
The final straw for my family attending soccer games at AAMI Park, off to the shop to buy AFL gear
To assume violence only happens at football matches is ridiculous. I have seen violence at almost every single sporting code in this country. I've been stuck on a train in the middle of stations while waiting for police to arrive while rival afl fans belted the suit case out of each other including the elderly. I have footage to back this up! Cricket, nrl, tennis ect. .. There is a minority of trouble makers no matter the sport. Ban the minority, increase the fines. But don't say it's only a "world game" problem, because that is an absolute lie.
Let's be blunt. This is LESS about club rivalry and far more about racial hatred between young men who are fed hatreds by their families. raised to hate. Sadly, soccer suffers too
it is frustrating that this season the crowds at the soccer have been great and that a group of thugs from Sydney not interested in the game can cause such an affect. It was clear to all in the stadium who they were and the A-league should not allow them at any matches ever again.
So 2 individuals have been banned...........better that the A-league is banned! Soccer will never be a real Australian sport. Just as well we invented our own Australian Football.
Strangest game on earth. Static game with minimal fitness required. There's too many players on that tiny field to ever score. This game will always brew this type of discontent with un-Australian people.
Adelaide Now (Graham Cornes) - 4th January 2013
Alessandro Del Piero hysteria is over the top
Later that week simon Hill goes on FIVE AA (Adelaide Radio stations) and rips Cornes to shreds!!
Here's the audio: (really worth listening to)

This was excellent!
It's UN-AUSTRALIAN. An UN-AUSTRALIAN sport like soccer will never be accepted in Australia. UN-AUSTRALIANNNN!
Seriously though, The term UN-Australian has to be the most frustrating term ever. Seriously what exactly is UN-Australian??
With teams like WSW how can you say it is a safer sporting event than going to the AFL, cricket or basketball?I still stand by my point though that this is just a minority here in Australia. It's still safer than other sporting events in Australia. In saying that though, something has to be done to prevent future incidents. If I was in charge of the FFA I would impose stadium bans. Not just to the individuals but denying entry to every supporter of that club. It seems harsh to those not involved but in the long run would be the best option in stopping this crap.

There is more violence and aggressive behaviour at a soccer game than an AFL and if your don't think so you are truly ignorant. When was the last time AFL supporters needed to be segregated in fear of violence? Or the last time two AFL teams supporters meet up in the middle f the city and went on a wild brawl?
FWIW I regularly attend MV matches and enjoy the soccer immensely, however it can definitely feel like a more hostile environment at times. Yes AFL has its moments with aggressive dheads in the crowd, but for some reason at soccer games it becomes a mob mentality with some of these idiots and to me that always seems a lot more aggressive and intimidating
