LMAO. So we are stuck with with a corrupt organisation and an incompetent one. Good luck Bombers.

I guess next we find out about the state of our judicial system for such matters.
And yet we are the ones pinged for 'poor' governance

Well at least someone on the HTB is offering some actual throughout logic -

You're leaping ahead there. A show cause has been issued but that does not mean Dank will automatically be registered or sanctioned even if he chooses not to argue. The new subgroup of the ADRVP can consider the show cause eventually (we are no where near that happening) and any relevant info and they are free to discharge the matter if they wish. Even if they do register him and sanction him he will then be entitled to a hearing and/or other legal avenues. If sanctions were imposed on Essendon players wholly based on Dank's case whilst Dank's case is going through courts there would be a massive orchestrated outcry of natural injustice. It seems to be accepted that player sanctions are totally dependent on Dank's guilt (otherwise they would already have been issued). If that is true it would make no sense to sanction other players before Dank's case is finalised. Indications are that that could be several years.

It's been over two years since the major events surrounding the investigation (pre anzac day if the papers are to be believed).

Dank is yet to face the music and that could be months down the track if at all.

Then there's the high probability it goes to every avenue of appeal, which would again prolong any decision.

The AFL anti doping code has an 8 year statute of limitations.

Tick tock.

"34 anti-doping rule violations he allegedly committed while employed by AFL clubs Essendon and the Gold Coast."

So Gold Coast, are you to have your coach suspended and his reputation trashed, been fined millions, lost a finals berth (we can wait a year or two to apply this one), lost draft picks and been fodder for the likes of Caro (etc. etc. etc.)?
Oh, you haven't been found guilty of anything?
Welcome to the circus!

Paul Little just said on Triple M that he thinks that self reporting may not have worked well for us (and perhaps it was the wrong thing to do) as we lost leverage and some of our rights. Will make some sort of headlines, but he's right IMO.

Yes. Agreed. Self reporting just made lazy commentators think EFC was guilty of all and sundry.

Oh lord, if this does indeed blow up, Little can **** himself. Haven't heard any press on this crap since the Tania Hird interview weeks ago
The interview was fine and I'm sure the 'headlines' will be minor. The point is he is right!

Not disputing the fact that he is correct, he is. But I just hope we don't have to hear s**t like "LITTLE BELIEVES ESSENDON WERE WRONG TO SELF-REPORT. NO MORALS DISPLAYED BY ESSENDON CHAIRMAN. HIRD MUST BE SACKED!!1!".

Hopefully like you said, the headlines will be minor, but the media do have a tendency to blow small s**t up into something big.

WHY IS HE TALKING ABOUT IT WHEN HE WANTED JAMES HIRD TO SHUT UP
Didn't you get the memo.. James Hird, the biggest victim in the whole sorry mess by a long long long way, is the single ONLY person who isn't allowed to speak about it.. totes amazeballs.

And thanks for the Captain Obvious Little.. we shouldn't have self reported for doing nothing wrong.. who would have thunk it?!!! * I hate that man.

Didn't hear the comments, but I'm not prepared to hang him on it. Hypocritical, yes; but he's put the seed of a message out there. And it won't dominate the headlines or cop criticism because the coverage will be of anzac day.

Could be a good move, especially as it has recently also been highlighted in the press that we weren't the only club.
