According to the article in The Age, the cut is due to the new football dept spending tax and the club is trying to reduce its spend to limit the tax. Someone from sport science has also been axed. Lappin's role is unlikely to be filled by someone from outside the club apparently.

Has leaked every team change, selection and injury before it has been released publicly, and has been bang on every time (the Elliott fiasco vs Brisbane, for example). Also broke the first mention that Lumumba might not be at Collingwood next year about a week ago, before the media got a hold of it.
