The AFL have not done that for Hawthorn & North Melbn. Hawthorn get paid to play here by the state Gument, & are sponsored to wear the name on their jumpers. Its a political/ 'commercial' relationship.

It's still a similar case here in Canberra. The ACT Government forked out $23m for 3+1 games at Manuka per year for ten years, and in return 'Canberra' is on the back of the jumper. Odds are there would be no 'zone' relationship if it couldn't be built on the club's funded presence here.

Yes it should have. But you have been given to Western Sydney. Maybe you are the Great in GWS:rolleyes:.

I know Tassie doesnt get called the 'Great' in Great Hawthorn, or the 'Great' in Great North Melbourne. No they dont add "Great' to those names to make us feel part of something. We are just the loose change in Hawks & Roos pockets.

So be greatful that you are part of a geographic location, even if you are on the edge of it. We are just a location for fund raising.

You think we're not primarily a source of money? Greater Western Sydney is a geographical designation that refers to the 14 LGAs of the western Sydney area. Nothing to do with the ACT. It extends to like Penrith or at a stretch the Blue Mountains LGA, 2 or 2.5 hours from here. We only get games because our govt pays 2 million a year for them. We previously got North, the Bulldogs and the Demons for the same reason - ACT govt money.

Honestly when the AFL tells us "you guys already have a team" based on three matches a year it's pretty disrespectful.

Join the club. Caroline Wilson & Martin Flanagan at the Age newspaper are right on it. The hypocrisy & disrespect. Same with the ACT
