I just reckon that Hulme got everything out of himself as a footballer. Short, not quick but tough as nails and had the right attitude. I know it was during a poor period but he was looked at as a Captaincy candidate either before or after Whitnall. I see some similarities with Rodgers, happy to tough it out and do the hard yards.
