Injury Bailey Rice - glandular fever

Or the jump of intensity was a shock to the system, hence the fever?
That's what I was thinking may be the case. Most of those who said they've had it before (including me) got it around year 12, which can be a really stressful and physically demanding time, and if Bailey wasn't as prepared for the increased intensity as most others are when drafted then the shock to his system and stress his body was under could have made him more susceptible to it.

Either way, hopefully he doesn't try to push himself too hard too early and gets over it fully ASAP.

imagine if he had it during the combine testing... woweee
I was walking down the road as I read that, and literally stopped in my tracks. Awesome point.

As nice a scapegoat as this would be for his average combine results, is that even how glandular fever works?

Never had it myself, but mates who've had it didn't get gradually sick over a period of months, they got suddenly sick for a few weeks and then took months to recover. Incidentally one friend had to take 6 months off uni... hopefully Bailey recovers as quickly as possible.
