havent you heard this is the new direction the club is taking
get rid of all the talent and rebuild a new culture
sounds like its going to plan ??

or are the players talking with there feet
cant wait until the local dearby this year we went 2 up last year and they were a ok side ??

Settle down cockroach all is not lost, Sutton and Thomas are staying at South and rumour Thomas might bring a couple of players from WRFL, they won't be great, but should not win the wooden spoon

Here's new Darley Devil Calvin Hassent and his brothers celebrating his sign on fee last night.

Word on the street is that 2011 may be Sunba's last year in the BalFL if not this year then 2012. With the EDFL going to 3 divisions and on the hunt for new clubs Sunba have been heavily courted. The Redan final may have been the final nail. Sunba V Marbo Park - now that is MASSIVE!!!

It makes sense. It is a massive hike from Ballarat to Sunbury and the level of professionalism and talent that they have brought to the comp has been underappreciated for years. Good luck to them.

At what division will they enter?

It would have to be Div 2 which is now getting to a really good standard. They have 10 teams in Div 1 - which they want - so they could not put Sunba in and not allow the Div 2 premiership team not go up. EDFL are also after a Melton team and a Toolern Vale team.

100% - would Essendon be closer or further than Ballarat? EDFL want 3 10 team comps - split in 2012 will be 10 - Div 1, 8 Div 2 and 6 in Div 3. They are 6 teams short. 18 round comp each team play each other twice. With your post the Devils will get a call.

Could be wrong but I don't think Sunba would get within 10 goals of Maribyrnong:eek:

BFL: Porter defects to Darley Devils

IMPOSING interleague centre half-forward Brendan Porter has defected to Darley.
The former Melton big man has requested a transfer from the Metricon Bloods to join the Devils ahead of the start of the MECU Ballarat Football League season.
Porter is yet another important arrival at Darley Park this pre-season, following the signing of ruckman Scott McAllester and small forward Joel Riske. He will fill the hole created by the departure of Jake Edwards.
The Devils pounced when they heard whispers Porter was planning to leave Macpherson Park.
"When we lost Jake (Edwards), we were looking for a centre half-forward and (Porter) is one of the best around," Darley coach Gary Learmonth said.
"We had spoken to him a few years ago and we heard he was looking to move on. 'Tuddy' (Jarrod Edwards) was mates with him when he was at Melton. It will take a fair bit of a load off a lot of the other forwards.
"He has trained with us for a couple of weeks," said Learmonth.
"He's bigger than I thought looking from the sidelines, and he moves very well."
Learmonth said young key forward Bernard Whelan would benefit from playing alongside Porter, who has represented the BFL and Victoria Country at interleague and country championship level.
Meanwhile East Point midfielder Chris Banwell will not require a knee reconstruction but will need surgery on the knee he injured while playing cricket on the weekend.
Banwell said the operation would remove some floating cartilage from the knee, which would put him out of action for much of the pre-season.
He said he was unsure when he would be able to resume full training.

If that's Scott McAllester from Airport West, he will struggle to have any impact whatsoever in the Ballarat League !

YES you are probably correct, but if Sunbury did make the move into the EDFL, they would have more impact in a shorter period of time than Craigieburn did when they came in from the RDFL. If they had to start in the 2nd Div, it would only be for a year.

where is dane grenfell playing this year?? i seen melton south training last night not many numbers at all and looks there senior side will be full of twos players gonna be a long year for melton south thats forsure

does anyone know if you can veiw the clearances anywhere, they were on the BFL website last year but cannot find a link for them this year would be interesting to see the comings and goings and squash all the rumuors of the silly season

He is signed and playing at Melton South

Who will play in the ruck for Sunbury this year ?

Patty is playing football in Darwin in the summer and will be back for Sunba for round 1. He flies up for the game and still trains at Sunba. You need a clearance to play in the Darwin league. Playing in Darwin for a while will help him lose the puppy fat and be ready for round 1 and a big season. With Waymouth on the move the number 1 ruckman is back up for grabs.
