The biggest flog of the day was David Smorgan and his two sons (with their kids). They sat in the Saints reserved seating area and bagged our players and picked arguments with everyone around them. He had a go at me with my little kids next to me o_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_O so I refrained - but what he had to say was worthy of a smack in the mouth. After we scored a goal, one saints member was heading to the bar and said to a Smorgan "what did you think of that dickhead??". The Smorgans called security and the Police!! Karma is a bitch though. Security initially bailed up the Saints supporter but after numerous Saints members set the record straight with the Cops and Security - security removed the Smorgans and sent them elsewhere. They weren't so tough when I confronted them with the truth in front of the cops. The old man Smorgan was so arrogant that he went to the toilets by himself and when he got back he realised that everyone was gone. He got a hail of abuse from people when he came out of the toilets and had to be escorted away by the police. What a turd of a human being.
I have to hand it to the Etihad staff and the cops. They realised what was actually going on and defused the situation and moved the Smorgans out so that we could enjoy the rest of the game. :thumbsu::thumbsu:
Ticketmaster and Etihad need a kick in the arse for allowing opposition supporters to sit in the Saints social club reserved seating.:thumbsdown::thumbsdown: :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: The mind boggles.o_Oo_Oo_O

did anyone else witness this today?

if true, what a pathetic example he is setting for young children sitting in the area. seriously not on

If he did do this then this is pathetic petty behaviour. It is hard however to be able to police the seating in reserved teams supporters areas however. They should seriously give him a break basically from games as his actions are no better than supporters throwing bottles, spitting or getting flung for offensive language.

depends what was said. bagging players is just part of the football experience. happens at every game. you need to expect it to a certain degree.

if it's cursing or racist etc in front of the kids then that's different, but i don't think we need to be enforcing a police state at footy games...

Like most Doggies supporters, probably just a build of Saints angst and hatred boiling over. :D

Not that I'm doubting you at all, but I find the whole event pretty unbelievable. Smorgan's a highly intelligent man who showed nothing but humility and a level head as our leader. Hope he apologises to Saints people if he stepped over the line...

I wouldn't be congratulating the Etihad security or cops.

That place is run like a prison the way security treat you. They are incredibly over zealous and rude.

This was likely on level 2 in a place where the seat ticket holders risk losing their reserved seat for any behavioural problems. Escalating the situation with the security is often half the problem.

It's amazing how upset people can get these days and a shame some genuine banter can't fly between rival supporters without threats of violence or calling security.

Anyone who's ever talked to Smorgon realises that he would NEVER do something like this. Very intelligent and well spoken man, and wouldn't risk doing something like that even if he was the kind of person to do it.

So you are basically saying that he was lobbing verbal rockets at the Saints supporters and the Saints supporters were forced to build a wall of security to protect themselves?

Of course, without evidence, it is unjust to take the OP on face value.

However, being intelligent or a good media performer doesn't preclude one from being an arsehat. For example, one would think a certain someone would not call a certain player, who had been the victim of a racial taunt from one of your fans, a name that could easily be construed as racist on air. But it happened.

paying out opposition players as well as bagging the umpires out is part of the football experience, just because you see a well known person there is it easy to tell stories about them. if he was there with his wife and kids its hard to believe some one carrying on like this.

what ever really happened, untill more witnesses come forward and back up this claim, people can take it as they want to.

I still doubt it happened very much.

BUT if it did happen there is no place for that at any football game. All it does is ruin the experience for the people who went to the game and casts a bad light on our club. There are no positives to that sort of behaviour at any time.

So... what's the point of this thread? "Apparently", well known man gets fired up at the footy. And? I see a lot of people do s**t at the footy.

a saints fan yelled at me today for shouting "onya Cooney" when he kicked a goal form a 50 metre penalty. Apparently you're not allowed to do that when they get given a 50 because they didn't "earn" it.

so there, d***head fans exist. best thread ever

I have a feeling this is completely made up.

Saints fan upset at losing.

Saints fan decides to make up story about high profile WB supporter being an ass hat.

Likely story.

If supporters can't handle a bit of jibing of their players by opposition supporters, maybe watch in the "security" of your own home.
