I was responding to a post that claimed Quibten Lynch was comfortably better than Hawkins. It was not about Alistair Lynch

The Q-stick ? They've gotta be kidding. He was okay, had a couple of good years when he was being fed by one of the best midfields ever, but nobody ever broke the bank to pay his salary.

The 95 Carlton side was great as well

You can have a pretty good list when you ignore the salary cap.

Black continues to be underrated. No way would I take Bartel over home and none of Ling, Selwood or Cory over Akermanis. Brisbane easily the best midfield of recent times, along with West Coast circa 2005/06.

Respectfully disagree. Aker was a fwd/mid so he fits the Steve johnson type mold. You have to compare Lappin, and Power to the likes of Ling and Selwood and I'll take the Geelong pairing. Eagles had the 4 stars and not much else. Embley had his moments but Braun, Selwood, Fletcher these guys were serviceable at best.
