In terms of the midfielders in this draft, i would go -

Beams>Hannebery>Sloane>Rockliff>Shuey>Sidebottom>Hill>Hartlett>Rich>Zaharakis.

Rockliff fills out a stat sheet nicely and kills it in my fantasy side(not this year). But i wouldn't put him in the same class as Beams or Hannebery.

Maybe in your eyes but the figures tell us a different story. Also much easier to look good in a good team than to look good in a crap one.

Clearances Rockliff actual beats Hannerbry
Outside running is totally dependent on where your running too and who you're kicking it too,

Big time player hey, lets just look at that over the last couple of years.
2014 GF- nope, no good there (but not a big game)
2014 PF - career average stats.
2014 QF - solid game, listed amongst Sydney's best players

2013 PF - stank
2013 SF - top game
2013 QF - stank.

Rockliff - well Brisbane are crap so can't look at finals, instead lets try Q-Clash games. Where his performance have been oh so crap.
2015 - KO'd at start - can't judge
2014 - rd 3 - 35 disposals, 3 goals, 2 Brownlow votes in a side that lost by 53 points.
2014 - rd 17 - 47 disposals, 1 goal, 2 brownlow votes in 54 point win.

2013 - r3 - career ave stats in winning side
2013 - r15 - average stats in winning side.

Goal kicking wise they are equal. But you might want to consider the fact that Rockliff was the leading goal kicker in the TAC Cup in 2008.

Finally leadership. you're right Rockliff has no leadership skills, so was appointed captain by mistake and we really should get him to remove the fact that he was Captain of the Murray Bushrangers when they won the TAC Cup too.

Are you seriously comparing finals with Q-clashes? Seriously??!! Oh dear...

Well, looks like you shot yourself in the foot.

What else do I have to work with? Obviously though then the greatest player to play for the Swans wasn't a big game player either so Bob Skilton's record should be marked down a few notches.

My main point was to point out that your claim about Hannerbry was a big game player, well the stats say others, over the last two years in finals he has been very much up and down, not what anyone could call consistently high big game performances.

Notice you ignored the rest of the post.

You have nothing to work with - that's the point.

Hanners has stood up in many big games - certainly more than Rockliff.

Sure he hasn't dominated finals in the past few years, but who has. That doesn't mean he's not a big game player. There are many other important contests he has stood up in. And, no, you can't always measure those performances in stats... which most Rockliff fans would love to do because that's his speciality - an accumulator.

And it was quite convenient that you stopped your analysis before the 2012 finals series.

Hasn't stood up in finals, but is still a big game player. Please explain what a big game is if it isn't a final then.

Clearly it's a Q-Clash.

Did I say he hasn't stood up in any finals? No, just not all of them.

Like whacking my head against the wall...
Did I say I had a distinct lack of anything to compare for Rockliff so had to find some sort of measuring stick. How can you make a comparison if you don't have anything to compare too?

You called him a big game player 50% turn up in finals is not a big game player.

Shuey is a bit to high there mate your bias may be showing hahaha.

In no order. Beams, Hannebery, Hill, Sidebottom, Rockliff and Sloane are the most proven 6 with Hartlett, Shiles, Rich, Shuey and Zaharakis being the next group. Shuey definitely hes the most potential out of the 2nd group though with the exception of hartlett. Now lets see him finnish of his season in the same way he has started and prove me wrong.

Beams<rockliff<sloane<hanners<<<<<hill. I reckon if hill was in a weaker team he would be struggling alot more. Natanui is one that no one will be able to pick if he was worth pick 2 untill his carer is over.
