Help BF crashing tab in Google Chrome - Solved on Page 6?

It effects me on my home laptop but not my work PC. Its a very bizarre issue.

So these crashes have now started for me on OTHER websites when openned as Tabs, and has reduced in frequency on Bigfooty. So I suspect something is a bit iffy at the Google Chrome Gerbil Power Factory or something.

I would delete all add ons, then re-add them one at a time over a few days until the crashes start again. Then delete the last one and so on backwards until it stops.

Did some internet digging and its recommended to do THIS fix:

Download the Microsoft Fixit and run it from the site. I just did it and Im going to see how it goes for a while.

Alternatively, renaming Chrome.exe to Chrom.exe apparently also fixes it.

Hmm, the Microsoft Fixit hasnt corrected it. Im going to try the Chrom.exe next...

EDIT: Well that just makes Chrome not even run...

Further further update:

I followed several different suggestions, including: Disabling all addons in Chrome://Addons, trying without my Firewalls/Antivirus, turning off Chrome Hardware acceleration, browsing in incognito, reinstalled the browser completely, resetting the browser settings and a few other bits and pieces.

In the end, what I BELIEVE fixed it was downloading Malwarebytes and running a scan which found: PUP.RiskwareTool.CK in my Programfiles (x86)\Adobe Extension Manager CS6\amtlib.dll.

If anyone is still having AW SNAP errors I suggest giving this a crack.

I use Photoshop 7, funnily enough.

I just tried updating my Flash player on Chrome and after enabling it I started getting Aw Snaps again...

Ok, after even MORE searching, THIS may help some people:

Go to your Chrome://plugins page

Hit the Details button top right hand corner

Find the following:


And disable the PEPPERFLASH ONE. This forces Chrome to use your system flash and not its own, inbuilt flash, and should resolve the issues.

One thing to note, it now gives the plugin block default on flash. You'll to enable it again on sites .

Also no crashes, I noticed it would occur more often when I had google docs open but so far so good

Yeah, need to rightclick when the puzzle comes up and allow it, or using the option in the top right address bar. Hopefully Chrome may fix the inbuilt flash issues next build...

It is only affecting my laptop, on pc it is working just fine.

Check your Chrome settings on both and see if you have both Flash players enabled.

It's been working great for me, not a single Aww Snap on Big Footy. Most of my sites I use with flash have now been white listed for my flash player as well.
