Rumour Big three way trade....

Pretty sure this rumour surfaced about 2 minutes after it was announced that beams wanted to go home via a pies supporter on bigfooty. I think it's safe to say this is more the wishful thinking rather than a genuine trade rumour.

It's probably a nice thought for Pies supporters that they would receive Aish & Pick 4 for Beams but that's way overs for a player wanting to return to their home state.

If Aish was a core component of the Dangerfield deal then you'd think the Lions might be inclined to deal with Adelaide directly.

1. Brisbane don't have to give up that much for Beams.

2. Danger is a FA next year and can write his own cheque, why give that up?

3. Pies can't win next year so why not take pick 4 and 22 for Beams and Danger for free in 2015.

For that to work it surely Collingwood would have to give us more than just beams to get Dangerfield.

They are on different levels

Not really, Beams is comparable.

Plus Danger is a FA in a year. Then they'll get pick 11 or so.

FA has changed trade value massively, no one seems to realise this.

Its because a lot can happen in a year. Sure Collingwood could wait - but who is to say that Essendon, Richmond, Geelong etc aren't able to outbid them next year. Then they lose Beams and don't get Danger.

So then why would Danger agree to a trade when those bids are gonna come next year ?

His value isn't going to go up next year. He is already considered a top 10 player. All that can happen to his value is that it goes down.

Finish up the end of his current contract and start earning serious money whilst avoiding doing a knee and costing himself a lot of money.

It goes up massively because teams can get him for nothing. A team will always value layers and picks over cap space.

What's more valuable pick 4 and Aish or 400k cap space ?

Look at the free Agent deals so far, all massive overs. Buddy, Daisy, Sylvia, Goddard even Frawley is getting a 7 year $4mil deal.

Kerr was good, but wasn't in the same league as Judd, so yes comparing Judd/Dangerfield and Kerr/Beams is a pretty good comparison ..................
But Judd was also better than Danger as he was a lot more consistent. I have not checked the stats but I think Beams is more a goal kicker then Kerr

C'mon Pies fans, Danger is definitely a better player than Beams.
Beams is still clearly a gun though.

Danger top 1/2 dozen in the comp.
Beams top 20ish.

Hilarious thread.

Beams wants to go, the Pies will have to take what they are given within reason - that's how it always happens. They'll get one pick or a mediocre player and a mediocre pick.

No, that's how it happens when they are out of contract. Beams is contracted, so they'll get more than just "mediocre stuff".
