New AGALLOCH on the way.

frontman John Haughm announced on his official Facebook page that the new Agalloch album is ready and mastered, the only thing left to do is to design the CD/LP cover art. So it seems safe to assume that we will be seeing its release in the coming months. Their label Profound Lore Records had already revealed that the successor to Marrow Of The Spirit would come out this year. It's just a matter of patience now.

Quote from his Facebook page: "Just got back from San Francisco where I was there overseeing the mastering of the new album. Nice to have the final press-ready master copies in hand and have that part of this beast off my back. Now to finish the LP and CD package designs..."

John Haughm has given regular updates on his page about the new album, including this: "I'm bringing back some of the 'clean' vocals on the new album. I'm going for a full range of layered voices. Hopefully I won't * it up" and "Today in the studio, the words 'this is starting to sound like a mixture of Landberk, Anekdoten, ...and Bethlehem' were uttered..."

Gee after Slaughter of the Soul I am not sure about this...such a high benchmark...gonna hold my breath on this one...:(

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Damn, this is really happening! At The Gates have just confirmed that they will indeed be releasing a new album, 19 years after their last. Following the seminal Swedish metallers have announced that they are currently working on a comeback studio album (At War With Reality) in the classic line-up of their renowned effort from 1995 (Slaughter Of The Soul), at the moment slated for release worldwide by the end of 2014. Also, it will drop via Century Media Records.

The following statement was also released: "So, here we are almost 24 years since the birth of At The Gates, and some 18+ years since our latest album Slaughter Of The Soul. A lot of years have passed and we have embarked on some life-changing reunion tours and shows the last couple of years.

"So, why make a new album you might ask, and why now? Well, what we learned from the last couple of years hanging out and playing shows together, is that we enjoy what we do to the fullest extent. We love playing music together, and we love to hang out as friends. But, as a musician, we constantly write new music. It's a huge part of our identities.

"We are fully aware that we have made some very drastic statements in interviews as well as the closing words on the DVD about the longevity of At The Gates, but things change, situations change and people change. When Anders sent the first song last summer, we had zero expectations of the outcome. We only knew one thing - That it sounded amazing! At the time we weren't even sure there would be an album, but as things progressed, more songs came into existence, and we knew we were on to something great.

"We know you are all curious about the new material, and to make a simple explanation of where we are at musically, we would describe it as a perfect mix between early At The Gates & Slaughter Of The Soul-era At The Gates, trying to maintain the legacy and the history.

"We chose Century Media as a worldwide partner for the upcoming album. We have all been friends for years with people at the label. Jonas & Anders have a history with The Haunted there (as well as Adrian with Paradise Lost).

"So, we hope to bring you updates about the progress of the new album soon. The plan is to record the album in June/July with a tentative release in October / November of 2014 on Century Media Records."

The two songs released from the new Behemoth are utterly s**t, not a hint of a blast beat to be found or a overly tremolo picked riff that isn't entirely forgettable. At least their previous "death" metal albums despite being laden with semi-plagiarised, Morbid Angel riffs (when they weren't ripping off whole songs from bands like Anthrax) had some merit, these two songs are just garbage. I guess appearing as a judge on your country's version of Australian Idol will eventually lead you to produce mainstream garbage.

Really? Are the songs that bad? I haven't listened to Behemoth in ages, although it doesn't surprise me, i kind of thought Evangelion was a step towards that direction...

Judge for yourself.

Might be just me but I find this song to be utter dogshit.

Dont mind it at all. Its not the Behemoth I am used to however.....
Fair enough, guess ive never gotten the ridiculously over the top hype with them or most polish death metal in general. Only polish dm band I've ever actually enjoyed were Yattering who never got the attention they deserved.

I haven't listened to this song yet, nor any Behemoth for the last 5 years or so, bar the other single they put out the other month for this album, but I didn't mind that last one..
Thought the last one was even worse than this one to be honest. If I wanted to hear brass horns I'd listen to some Bal-Sagoth.

Got some new Prostitute Disfigurement and Corpsessed, PD was a bit on the bland side with production being a bit too clean for brutal DM (preferred the sound and music on Embalmed Madness/Deeds of Derangement). Corpsessed was pretty decent, really dig the old school Autopsy/Incantation vibe.

Holy * it's true. Coroner are coming to Australia!

Very excited, now just have to find a way to ensure that the setlist is comprised of the first 3 albums and I'll be set.

That is ******* awesome. Mind you I also dig their technical stuff like Mental Vortex which is probably the most progressive/technical thrash metal album ever recorded.

250 or 350?

IS-F man. F is like AMG for Merc or M for beamer. IS-F is a 5 litre V8. So IS250, IS350 and IS-F is like a c200, c350 and an AMG C63 (IS-F was made to take on C63's and M3's).

Picked it up today, things a beast. 311kw/505nm. But it's cool driving around town because it has twin throttles/intakes, and the 2nd one doesn't open up until 3,600 rpm. So with the 8 spd trans, if you don't put your foot down it just cruises around like a luxury v8. Once you jump on it though and it hits 3,600 it's carnage, the sound is insane. My favourite car i've had i think!

Awesome! The link did go to the F...but I did not want to presume anything....very jealous. I am looking at an SV enhanced Clubsport R8 (340kw) when my current lease expires but might go the Walkinshaw 310 instead. Happy days!!

Not sure how the topic turned to cars, are we splurging on dream cars here? If so, give us a mint VK SS any day.

Yeah not a big fan of HSV anymore. I had a Senator Signature and it was a beast but spent more time getting things fixed than it did on the road. And in the end, aussie cars cant put the power on the road. The new GTS is a lot better than previous generations, and i had a serious look at it, but when you drive the IS-F, it's just no comparison. In my opinion anyway. At some point, a GTS is gonna break if you keep giving it s**t. Once the waranty is up you're ****ed. That jump from the 100k range for a GTS, to 140-170 for an ISF/M3/C63 is worth it imo. Of course, with LCT, GST and SD, the governments get a large chunk of that cash. Really, an IS-F should be ~100k and a GTS ~60k (yeah its quick, but in the end it's an omega commodore)

Also Dee, i wanted a smaller 4 door. The IS-F is a nice compact design. I don't have kids to i didn't want another massive tank like the GTS. That thing is huge.

You should have a look at the new IS 350 F-sport. Very nice car. I think they are a 6 second 0-100 car too which is pretty quick really - my mate has a renault RS265, that thing is ballistic and is 6 seconds too. Or wait for the new XR8 at the end of the year - supercharged and sub 5 seconds.
