Renewable energy is not cheap, and certainly not free as some uneducated people like to make out.

Rebuilding our aged & inefficient coal fired power stations wont be cheap either. We payed for them once before, new ones wont come free.

Someone has gotta pay somethin', sometime, to someone for somethin'. Whether coal, or turbines or mass turtles cycling on mass cycle turbines or somethin'.

Tax or subsidy or co payment or direct action or whatever.

We all gotta pay.

Why not get on the renewable track, with the technology & jobs it brings?

The CFMEU has some bad stuff within it ranks - but the good far outweighs the bad. They are militant and politicaly savvy, the membership still thinks in terms of class - this is why it is such a Anti-Christ for the Right. Dave Noonan is a man beyond reproach. What the guru does not emphasise is we had a Royal Commission into them which went for two years and cost just under 2 billion dollars - out of that we got two convictions. That entailed a full audit of their books, cross examination of all their officials, and an invitation to all to bring misconduct to the public gaze - that was a RC which was initiated by the Howard Government and reported during its term - they must be pretty good at hiding s**t!!!!

As the late Malcom Fraser said there is no thing as a free lunch, the coal mines weren't cheap and got lots of government subsidies,as most mining companies get to start off and carry on. With the new wave of renewable energy sources it will open up work and people will spend money and pay taxes. Win win for every body.

We can't afford to subsidies these days.

So the liberal national party will do what there best at, run a scare campaign full of lies and complete bull s**t. The whole world is chasing renewable energy systems but Liabbot can keep us looking at those beautiful coal mines.

The lies and scare campaign are coming from the Eco-catastrophists who lie about the negative extent of the externalities of current energy systems and then double down on their lie to over exaggerate what is capable from "renewable" energy systems.

And the whole world isn't chasing "renewable" energy systems, it is just that idiotic Eco-catastrophists aren't only found in Australia.

We can still afford subsidies for mining companies, it's about time Australia invested in sustainable jobs and industries for the future instead of just digging holes in the ground.
If the big end of town start paying their share of tax would be an advantage as well.

LOL Absolute bullshit.

Renewable energy will continue to be a massive failure that gobbles up inordinate amounts of taxpayer subsidies and does little but give Eco-catastrophists a warm & fuzzy.

All nonsensical throw away lines from someone without any understanding of economics or energy realities, but full of the vibe of Gaia.

What have state mining subsidies cost you? | The Australia Institute
www.tai.org.au/content/what-have-state-mining-subsidies-cost-you
The Minerals Council says mining receives zero dollars in subsidies. We've gone through the last six years of State budget papers to see, for the first time, how ...

Yes but constructively, I feel sorry for you that you don't question blatant propaganda. But you are correct you can believe whatever you like.....
