For those that didn't see the news, after a vote at the Lions AGM, the Fitzroy Lion / Triple Premiership Lion is coming back to the Brisbane Lions jumpers - although the change won't be made until 2015 (because all of the jumper merchandise had already been order a couple of months ago for 2014).

It's taken us 4 years to get to this stage, and it will end up being 5 years of the Paddlepop Lion on the jumpers, but in the end we got there. It is great to note that the change back probably would not have been made without the great support of the Queensland based members that set up The Lions Roar ( http://thelionsroar.net/ ) - who campaigned tirelessly for a vote on the jumper to be put to members (given the original decision was taken unilaterally by the old administration).

Although in the short term at least, I would expect the Paddlepop Lion face to remain as one of the Lions two logos for branding / marketing purposes (along with the Fitzroy Lion).

As a traditionalist I am very very pleased. I would like to see the name Fitzroy displayed somewhere on the jumper too. The rear of the jumper perhaps , replacing the BBFFC or is it FFBBC, I think for one of the old clubs to never have its name lost is a good idea.

The Paddlepop Lion was an abomination foisted on a club by a small group of Richard Craniums who had next to no understanding of football culture. It will be great to see our lion back!
