With Evans finishing his contract with BMC this year it then raises the question of if there is an option for him in 2015. His days of competiting for podiums in GT events is over, so it is down to either retire, focus on the classics, shorter tour events or potentially taking on a role as a super-domestic helping to develop young GC riders. It is the final option that provides most interest to me.
OGE have shown that they are always in the mix for the classics and picking up stage wins in GTs, but have not seen a GC rider emerge, for that matter they really lack some who has the ability to offer real support in GC events. If an agreement could be arranged it would be definitely worth exploring the option and would provide boost to the already growing profile OGE has in Australia amongst the general public and provide invaluable knowledge to developing riders.
