First time venturing onto this board, has made me wonder about a few collections I have. I have full sets of 2005 and 2007 Herald Sun footy card albums about 1/2 of 2006 and most of 2004. All these cards are in the original albums. Will these be worth anything in the future? Would anyone know the value of the following: - Paul Kelly 1995 Brownlow Medalist Select card (1996) (MC1) - Tony Lockett BnF (1996) (B&F15) - Glen Jakovich BnF (1996) (B&F16) - Most Courageous - Marcus Ashcroft - AFLPA (1994) (106) - Most Valuable - Wayne Carey - AFLPA (1994) (98) - Corey McKernan - AFLPA (1994) (15) - Coca Cola Team Classics - Alastair Lynch (2/16) and Wayne Carey (12/16) both (1995) - 1996 Select Rising Star cards - eg. Andrew McLeod, Aussie Jones, Brad Johnson, Scott Camporale, Micky O'Laughlin. - 1995 Select Game Breaker cards eg. Alastair Lynch, Greg Williams. - 1996 Select All Australian Cards -eg. Gary Lyon, Darren Jarman, Paul Kelly, Nicky Winmar, Michael Long, Craig Bradley. - Select player cards from 1996. Thanks guys.
The best way to find out what those cards are worth is to go onto ebay and do a search on them using the "completed listings" in "advanced" options. In terms of the Herald Sun sets having value in the future, it all comes down to the total circulation of those cards. Obviously the more there are out there, the less they are worth. The value of the cards in future will also depend on the health of the card collecting market and the significance of the card as well. At the end of the day, they are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them. These days the rarer cards are numbered (eg. autographed cards). These numbered cards are likely to be worth more in the future than a non numbered card because there is a record of its original circulation. Hope this helps
G'day guys I have a framed collection of old Footy cards from the nth melb Footy club , it's a collection of some of their great players Inc - Les Foote , Roos glendinning , McCann , Dench a few more upto Wayne Carey. just wondering if anyone knows if this could be worth anything? I've had it for around 12-15yrs. Thx
Getting a card signed yourself doesn't really increase the value of the card that greatly. In fact for set collectors, the card becomes worthless. Autographed cards are worth more when they are apart of a numbered print run and authenticated.
Impossible to say exactly. It would really come down to what someone is prepared to pay for it. Obviously each card would have it's own individual value so that would be a start in terms of a base value.
