Carlton fans thoughts on the finals

Yeah but it's Essenscum....you know the scum? The same blokes that were juiced up when they busted Carrazzo's shoulder and then went all over twitter on the Monday making fun of it. These blokes are the ultimate in lowlifes. Hate is not a strong enough word. In fact there is no word strong enough IMO.

Really think Richmond will beat Port ? Interesting.

Just a feeling. Had the same feeling on the weekend too.

In saying that, if Port play the way they did against us, they'll smash the Tiges

Port have been pretty good the last fortnight and I think the Tiges are due for a loss, although I have been thinking that for the last 9 weeks :D

I think they've created a bond with one another over the past couple of months and especially on Saturday night. Momentum can be hard to stop. I also think they would've learnt a lot from last years loss against us

They are certainly playing with a sense of self belief and have done well to be playing in September. I heard it mentioned today that no team has gone from 3-10 and won the last 9 games to play finals. Wish we had that type of belief and application, does help when you have your best 22 on the ground each week.

I get excited this time of season, disappointed of course blues aren't playing however hope all the playing, coaching staff and board members watch the game to see the level we need to get to and work towards to be part of September action, spots in finals and top 4 aren't handed they're earn't though playing top consistent football

Naaa.... finals time just sh!ts me when the Blues aren't in there.
The media are all going into raptures, the favoured underdog's tyres are being pumped to bursting point (Richmond this year of course) and the papers are full of smug, happy faces of people wearing foreign colours.
**** the lot of 'em!

Love finals time.

Yet to see Carlton in many, born in the wrong time I tell you, but nevertheless still very exciting.

I love the sport, which then led me to follow Carlton (I was born a Carlton supporter, but I had to like the game before I liked Carlton in a way) so I find it interesting that people don't follow the finals if we aren't in it. I'm not saying it's wrong, but just interesting because I view it as Carlton being a part of something that I love, rather than just loving Carlton the club.

Anyway, cannot wait for this Friday! Who wins? I have no idea. Going to be an early grand final like game.

Mate, I didn't say I don't follow the finals... just that it sh!ts me that we're not in it!
I generally lap up all the razzamataz if the Blues are involved.

Sydney's bought their flag.. As long as someone else other than them (or hawks/cats to an extent) win it I'd be happy. Hoping Freo get their breakthrough premiership if anyone.

Edit... Oh and hell no to the drug cheats.

Sydney "bought their flag" yet Hawthorn didn't?

I find it amusing to seeing Hawthorn as described as the cleanskin underdog etc battling against Sydney.

I don't think people fully realise of the benefits the AFL has given EXCLUSIVELY to Hawthorn...it makes the COLA look small.

The Tasmanian deal got Hawthorn an extra 15,000 members and 15 million dollars plus in sponsorship. If the AFL was "equitable" they would have had a variety of teams playing out of Tasy...but they opted just for Hawthorn...and then there is the $1 rent per year for Waverley.

Naah, I would much prefer Sydney winning it over Hawthorn, but I think Hawthorn have the better team, so it is their's to lose.

week 1 - richmond vs port - going for richmond...Port has been given 10 million plus by the AFL. Richmond (just like Carlton) has been given nothing financially (above the dividend) from the AFL. Richmond and Carlton are the two overlooked teams of the AFL who don't get the benefits other clubs get. On those grounds I go for Richmond.
week 1 - north vs essendon - have to go for north despite the AFL giving North 6-8 million plus over other clubs.

Swaying towards Port beating Richmond. Respect what Richmond achieved enormously but you would have to say that the resting of Buddy, Kennedy and McGlynn somewhat helped them to their last win.

They will find Port toughened up by their game against Freo and the crowd rabid. I think the Earth is bracing itself for the almighty thud of Richmond coming back to it.

You tip relative to your view on a club's revenue streams?

I tip relative to how much assistance is provided by the central proliterariat socialist headquarters/kremlin in Moscow/AFL House.

Carlton and Richmond are next year going to be kicking in $300,000 each to assist other clubs move up the ladder.

Carlton is 5 million in debt.

This is not equitable and it is not fair. Carlton should not be hamstrung to help other clubs move above it on the ladder, so on those grounds (over 10 million given to Port in the last few years) I have next to no sympathy for Port Adelaide. Their "heroic" rise was largely engineered by external forces.
