Toast Chad ****ing Wingard

How anyone could think that a reverse order countdown, which essentially acts as a process of elimination anyway, would be quality viewing is beyond me.

Truly one of the most bazaar concepts, and proving how out of touch some people really are.
Especially when the top 3 picks were all the same club...

Some of the players going for the AA small forward spots :

Chad Wingard; 42 goals, 342 disposals.
Eddie Betts; 42 goals, 218 disposals.
Luke Breust; 32 goals, 238 disposals.
Mark LeCras; 32 goals, 323 disposals.
Jeff Garlett; 32 goals, 194 disposals.
Cyril Rioli; 25 goals, 240 disposals.

Wingard and LeCras with the front running at the moment. Both should be selected, although some AA selectors have a tendency to use a small forward spot to reward a midfielder who can't be fitted into the AA midfield.

You guys are forgetting the draft's just an opportunity for Andy D and his mates to holiday on the Gold Coast.

We fans don't even need to know accurate player measurements in the lead up.

You need to add games to your stats for a better comparison.

At end of Rd 9 Chad had kicked 14.10. This is what the top 20 leaders had kicked by then

Chad has kicked the most number of goals over the next 8 games given everyone had a bye between Rds 11-13. Its an indictment on the current game that a clever small forward is outscoring the big KPF's, yes a couple have missed games, but when averaging a bit over 3 goals a game over 8 game zooms you up the ladder and the KPF's are struggling.

On the Couch tonight had stats for the best 5 conversion rates for set shots between 2012 and 2015 for players with a minimum of 50 set shots.

1st. 84% 46.9 Tory Dickson Bulldogs
2nd 76% 38.12 Josh Bruce Saints
3rd 75% 70.24 Chad Wingard Port
4th 74% 71.25 James Podsiadly Cats/Crows
5th 73% 37.14 Mitch Clark Lions/Demons/Cats
Chad kicked 4.2 on Sunday
1st goal a snap in 1st Qtr, 2nd a soccer on the line 2nd Qtr, 3rd goal set shot from 30m on 45 degree angle 2nd Qtr and 4th a mark and set shot from goal square in 4th Qtr. Behinds 1st behing a right foot snap late in 1st Qtr. 2nd - snap in left hand pocket late in last quarter, high bounce was going thru but Saints defender just got a finger tip to it.

Now 72.24 from set shots. Bruce kicked 1.2 and kicked 1.1 from set shot - missed the checkie set shot in 3rd and a snap in 1st = 39.13. Both are now 75.00% and equal 2nd.

Would def pick LeCras and Wingard out that lot, Lecras ability to play more midfield than Betts gets him the nod.

At just half his current rate of goalscoring he will get the most he has in a season. 43 the last 2 years, both in 24 games and he is on 35 with 7 rounds to go. Could get the 9 he needs in 2 or 3 games, will certainly get it in 7. The only thing that could stop him is an injury. Expect him to be named in Team Of The Week again.
Posted this on the 20th, just after the Showdown. Since then Chad has scored 3 and 4 so it looks like his best season will be reached in the hoped-for 3 games and with 4 games in hand. Could make the 50 this year.

Schulz should have passed it back to him instead of having a shot from 20m out directly in front.
I was pleading for Schulz to pass it when he was having a shot (which he missed) from 50 out, and Chad was about 20 metres out and in 15 metres of space.

Didn't kick 3 goals or more today, delist.
I was begging for someone to give him the ball in the last quarter because I couldn't give 2 craps about the result.

I'm not suggesting anything but I am personally not entirely happy with that response. Thoughts?
