I've heard football pundits arguing the same. Nick Maxwell, Ken Hinkley both said that there was not too much in it. They re-iterated Clarksons' call for the vision to be played at normal speed, to which they suggested there was insufficient time for Hodge to react.
The bump is probably the most misunderstood action or offence by fans at the moment. You would have to be very confident or deluded to think that you have the answers on it, and others are stupid.

Yes, I've said in the past that the best minimal possession games realistically belong to ruckmen or key position types. Still 2 goals and 3 goal assists is a good return for a small forward in a losing side yet the media will overlook all that in favour of repeating clichés like the one you referred to.
