That team looks unrecognizable yet most likely will be the one we line up with.

I'd bring Martin back in to get a proper look at him. Play him from the start and see how he goes. We need to make a decision on what to do with him next year, and don't think we can do that based on VFL form..

Players that are or could miss this week.

- Cloke – 216 games

- Beams – 110 games

- Reid – 99 games

- Toovey – 131 games

- Pendlebury – 190 games

- Elliot – 52 games

- Lumumba – 198 games

996 games experience that could be possibly lost this week in an already inexperienced side.

This looks about as good as it gets, assuming no Pendles or Elliott.

Not sure that team would beat Port Melbourne. Very much doubt that that team would be capable of beating any AFL team. Even Melbourne.

Really important for everyone's mental health this weekend to manage expectations; that team will not beat the Giants at home, if the Giants play anything like last week. Can only hope that was their Grand Final - but doubt that.

This could get really ugly round here - and for Bucks in the media.

Martin for Blair, Seedsman for Lumumba and call it a rebuild.

Let it be the first week of the new era.

Suggest setting expectations extremely low - can't be disappointed that way, and a win will be like gold :)

It would smash Port Melbourne into next year.

I agree it would struggle to beat Melbourne or GWS - except we perversely might be a chance as GWS had almost a bad day with injury as we did. They're looking at Patton, Davis and Ward out of a much weaker line up than ours. They'd already sent a whole lot of guys off for surgery. Reckon it's back to 50/50, better than that obviously if Pendles does get up.

They will also have Ward and Davis out. We'll probably win.
Yes, there's a slight chance of this so I'd rather we play it safe and forfeit the game altogether if we're serious about getting Moore for a second rounder.

The Giants flogged Carlton, Sydney up there and just lost to Cats and Essendon.
Patton is not a big loss.

Disagree. He's been their 2nd best forward this year, and also filled in down back for them when they're down a tall back there, as they now are with Davis going down. Plus he's been looking better and better as the year has gone on.

Will Goldsack be okay?

Shaz has now played 3 games at VFL level do we let him have a run vs the GWS kids being that they are mostly his peers and it would give him an insight into where he needs to get to over preseason. Even as the sub in limited game time.

He will work just as hard in the VFL as he would in the AFL and lets face it our season is shot to s**t.
If he plays an AFL game, then he is not eligible to play VFL finals (as he must play at least 6 VFL games to qualify, if he has played an AFL game). Leave him in the VFL.

Guys, I have just merged two threads on changes and selection for the GWS game. Apologies for not doing this sooner.

FYI, Damon_3388, yours was the second thread to start up on this topic, and all posts from your thread have been moved here.

I can't see any value in beating a dead dog so if anyone is suspect to injury they should be rested till next year and start the preseason from day one. Make them sit in the stands and watch/cheer/support the available team playing. It's important that we go into the preseason with the right attitude and close to a full list so we have no excuses about players being underdone. We can't afford for more serious injuries and delayed starts to 2015. We don't run deep with talent so 2 or 3 injuries next year and bang Groundhog Day. They will all have some extra time to chill and get their own heads ready so it's important that the coaches start building some excitement and desire for next year. Give the youngen's (if ready) a taste of AFL to reward them and to ignite their own desires and competitiveness to be part of the next gen.

What grabbed me most in the ABC interview was Buck's banging on about leadership and how we need more leadership from the group in particular the seniors like Blair, Caff, Lumumba, Toovey, etc. to step up. IMO it's hard to show leadership if the players themselves are not leading by example so guess what boys step up or step aside. At the same time Bucks needs to show leadership and drop any clowns that continually under perform. If their not upto taking the next step then trade/delist or what ever is required for the benefit of our future.

WHE Greene Kelly
O'Rourke Boyd Bugg
Palmer Giles Smith

Mumford Treloar Shiel

Int : McCarthy Sumner Wilson Kennedy

Hunt for Sumner if he's fit (he was on 'Test' on the GWS site).

All this means our VFL team will be decimated and will probably get bundled out in elimination final.
