It was out when he was coming of as well. Horrible luck first year for us, Gibbo had the same bad luck at the start. Honestly as long as lake and gibbo stay healthy we look better without him. Stratton as the third tall and an extra runner (Langford)

Burgoyne, Lake and Gibson also missed plenty of Football in their first year at Hawthorn, its 'par for the course' when coming here.

I think even Gunston had a few injury problems when he came here.

Better to have surgery?
Can we risk it popping out early in a final.
Or him developing ongoing shoulder issues with 2016 Lake's last?
Not sure if Heatherley is ready, and we know Shoe is not quite good enough, but Jesse White is a dream opponent this week for either - absolute spud.

Jesse White hates players who apply body contact. As we know that is not Shoey's strength. Not sure he is a great match up.

Good news, would love to see him to get a good run once he's back and actually find his feet in our side. Important to get a consistent set up in defense and establish that synergy before we hit the business end of the season

HAWTHORN defender James Frawley has received some good news, with the first-year Hawk’s left shoulder not requiring surgery.

Frawley dislocated his left shoulder in the second quarter of Hawthorn’s 38-point win against Essendon on Saturday and was subbed out of the match.

GM – Football Operations Chris Fagan told HawksTV that Frawley could be back within three to four weeks.

“He damaged some ligaments in his shoulder on Saturday in the second quarter,” Fagan said.

“We’ve had a series of scans over the last few days and discussions with our medical people and it looks at this point in time that James will probably miss three to four weeks.

“He’ll go through a rehabilitation process.

“I noticed he was out there running at training this morning, which is a good sign.”

It’s the second time Frawley has suffered an injury against the Bombers this season, with a pectoral injury sustained in Round 2 keeping him out of action for four weeks.

Fagan said fellow key defender Matt Spangher could be in selection contention this week, with the ankle injury he sustained while playing for Box Hill Hawks in the VFL on Saturday also not as serious as first thought.

“He rolled his ankle – he’ll be a test this week,” Fagan said.

"I think it was one of those ones where he was off more for precaution than he was for it being serious.

“We’ll just see how he rolls out over the next couple of days, and we’ve only got until Friday night, so we won’t be taking any risks with him.

“If he‘s not right to play he’ll have the weekend off.”

Midfielder Sam Mitchell has recovered from a corked leg, while forward Jack Gunston – who wore a glove in Saturday’s match – continues to recover from a dislocated finger he sustained in the Hawks’ Round 12 win against Adelaide Crows.

This is spectacularly good news!!! Fagan is so understated - he was saying it like it was bad news!?!?

3-4 weeks compared to season-ending is massive. Let's hope he's back to play on Kennedy vs WCE

I think we should bite the bullet and get him the surgery asap. No point messing around and trying to get him on the park. History shows that it just pops out again. Try someone like heatherly or Spangher can take his spot when not injured.
