How exactly does this work? This is what I think ( Correct me if I'm wrong )
Each person makes a home, away, clash, and logo for a fictional team they created, which has to be based off a real place in Aus. Then two teams face off against each other in a match, which is based on the better jumper, example: Melbourne Rabbits V Sydney Dogs, and people vote on Melbournes Home Vs Sydneys Away/Clash in a poll and then how ever has the highest votes gets 4 points on the ladder. There are several rounds then the top 8 teams or something play finals, the way AFL works, right? One question: Does everyone get their own team or is it like 2 people on a team or something, like they help each other in making the jumpers
My issue with this is that if there are 16 entries(which there possibly can be) the person running the comp has to save 48 individual kits and upload 16 individual kits per week. It doesn't sound like much of an effort, but I struggled running ACFFL which had 3 kits and a logo all in the one picture.

Whilst I like the idea, it is time consuming and unpractical.

Not if we have a rule were you have to upload it all has one image? or maybe I don't understand. My question was, does everyone get their own team?

Lazy 'designing'. NAFL lettering, NRL logo shape, VFL football + southern cross.

I think we have 15 people that want in at the moment.

If we get 16 I was thinking of having:

  • 4 Vic teams
  • 2 WA teams
  • 2 SA teams
  • 2 QLD teams
  • 2 NSW teams
  • 1 NT team
  • 1 ACT team
  • 1 TAS team
  • 1 NZ team

Thoughts?

That seems reasonable enough to me. I mean, as long as I get Onkaparinga, I'm happy. What's the process for which city or whatever you get? Is it assigned or first in best dressed?

Don't know where or what that is...

Make a bid for the city/team name/colours like this:

South Australia
Location: Adelaide
Nickname: Heat
Colours: Red/Black/Yellow

Also include more than one (probably 3-4 with different locations) in case your first preference misses out.

Then I'll most likely take the bids and discuss them with others and choose the teams based on stuff like how much they contribute to the board/how active they are. If your the only one with your first preference being NZ then you'll most likely get it.

Make a decision on a logo, E92_, and then start some sort of bidding thread where bidding takes place?

I'll make the thread now but I'll wait a bit before I choose the logo.

Also, can there be two teams from the same place etc. Melbourne [user]E92_[user]

Yes, but only for the major cities imo. I don't want there to be more than two unless they call it north/west etc.

Should only be cities. And since the Perth Jaguars will be returning, you can't choose Perth.

Was planning on going with Joondalup actually.

NM Design, just like the AFL the idea is to put too jumpers against each other. Otherwise people won't create proper clashes/away jumper. I prefer the home v clash/away idea as the that's how proper games are played.

People will create proper away/clash jumpers, because the criteria says that they must be created.

Let's just agree to disagree.

Not if we have a rule were you have to upload it all has one image? or maybe I don't understand.

No, you don't understand.

The way I think it should be run:
- Each person submits 3 kits and a logo all in the one image
- If there are 16 entries, the person running the competition will only have to save 16 images and upload 16 images per round.
- Less strain on the person running the comp, and easier to set up the poll threads for each round

The way I think it shout NOT be run:
- Each person submits 3 kits and 1 logo in separate images
- If there are 16 entries, the person running the competition will have to save 64 images and upload 32 images per round.
- Much more strain on the person running the comp, more complex to set up the poll threads for each round.
My question was, does everyone get their own team?
Yes, everyone gets their own team.
