Nothing wrong with Rohans AA selections but this is the starting midfield v the interchange.

Does anyone else think the interchange would give the others a run for their money ?

Ummm, no. The starting players are all a class ahead, bar Watson who is the obvious straggler.

Matthews Voss Diesel... any old ruckman.....Next !

A topic for earnest discussion post finals and the Draft maybe, when news is slow?

IMO, Ablett has lifted his status significantly in the past 2 years, and I didn't think that was possible. But whether he is "almost the best player of all time" is debatable. Maybe in the past decade (easily surpasses Voss, Buckley, Judd and Cousins IMO)

By the time gaz is said and done his stats and awards will be untouched. just like matthews, carey and ablett snr everybody should just sit back and enjoy, because it will be along time before we see another player like him.

Not sure about better than the vossinator - debate the rest

Watson has been the 2nd best midfielder/player in the competition this year. Anyone who doesn't have him starting doesn't watch enough football.

Also, how can anyone put Cotchin > Watson? Jobe beats him in almost every measureable statistic, including disposal efficiency.

You'll have to ask the coaches

Kennedy and Watson are almost impossible to split. Similar disposals. Kennedy has more clearances, but as a percentage of total clearances per game, they are identical (9.5%). Similar with contested possessions. Kennedy kicks more goals, lays more tackles and takes more contested marks (unfair to compare uncontested marks since the Swans kick rarely, and when they do, it's generally long), but Watson has more kicks and inside 50s.

That said, when you've got a player like Ablett, you can sacrifice the x-factor of Cotchin and play Kennedy alongside Watson. So in that sense, I think a stronger starting midfield would be Cox, Watson, Kennedy and Ablett. But as a whole, the starting midfield is stronger than the bench midfield.
