The inside word is that, if Rogers is declared unfit to play at Edgbaston, Shane Watson will be his replacement - ahead of Shaun Marsh, and Warner and Watson will open the innings. Gee it's hard to type when one's head is shaking uncontrollably!!!!!!!!!

lol. Maybe their reasoning is the new ball will be swinging enough that when Watson inevitably gets hit on the front pad the umpire won't be confident enough to give him out. When he does and the review is 'umpire's call' Watson will look as confused as Westhoff did when he stepped over the line on his kick in and the umpire called it back for a ball up.

Marsh hasn't done his chances of a Test call up any harm. He and Warner are opening the innings in the current 3 day game - at lunch we've raced to 0 for 132, with Warner on 87 and Marsh on 34. Maybe if these 2 bat out the day, Watson will be too depressed to remain on tour, and he'll fly home

if they were serious about watson opening in the third test he would be opening in this three day match.

If so its a bit of a let down we didn't get to see the trademark perplexed Shane Watson "r u srs umpire, that's going down leg" face
