But seeing those names in red on this list, that's not pleasing

Other than Sumner, Bennell and Dixon who do GCS BF think will get contracts and those who will not be on the list in 2016.[/QUOTE]

It's now becoame pretty clear that the Club had a make or break policy in terms of success by 2015
When you see the quality we stand to lose next year I just can't imagine retaining it all
To become THAT Club that develops players for 3-4 years then loses them to the next Old Club that has veterans aplenty and has natural list attrition is pretty heartbreaking

We already know this, don't we? Witheriff announced 20-ONE-3 a while back which was obviously the board's ambition by the end of 2015. Not only have they not won a premiership or gained 20,000 members, they haven't made a single finals appearance to date. Now the club is taking drastic moves in terms of trading to improve the list so you're probably right in saying they set a time limit. Rocket has already flagged the club is going to be "very active during the trade period" so it'll be interesting to see what they pull off. Let's not forget this is the same club that managed to convince the great Gary Ablett Jr to leave Geelong. There's reason to be optimistic over potential acquisitions.

It was always going to happen. You're always skating on thin ice when it comes to retention of a young list. The club has done well so far with Caddy still being the only one to really want to leave when the club wanted to keep him. The club has chosen to trade Bennell and said the decision to trade Dixon was mutual. Rumours come out about a guy like Prestia wanting to leave and then it's revealed he wants to stay. It's not all doom and gloom but if the rumours about Dangerfield are true then your O'Mearas, your Prestias and your Kolodjashnijs are going to have to take pay cuts to be a part of future success. If they don't want to take less then they'll be traded. If they can wait a few years then they'll get their money once Ablett retires and they'll likely have success with the Suns.

I read here that he wants to play in Melbourne to look after his 'expanding property portfolio'

http://www.sen.com.au/news/09-15/o-meara-likely-to-follow-stars-out-ralph

He must want to collect the rent each week personally.

Wouldn't read much into it.
Ralph said O'Meara's a city boy..
Couldn't be further from the truth think he was from Up near Geraldton where Martin is from. Like a 8 hour drive north of Perth if I can remember back a few years to when he was drafted.

He'd be worth the same as Trelore if not more.
So be interesting from Collingwood pay up for him.

For an opposition supporter you provide a pretty compassionate commentary for us Matchy!

Aaron Hall's a done deal as well just Waiting for the official announcement so we know how many years image.jpg

So Schade and Cameron aren't out of contract?
Andrew Boston as well. It would appear the only guys out of contract are Zac Smith, Daniel Gorringe and Charlie Dixon. All three will be traded/delisted along with Bennell. Looks like the re-signing is done for the year. Aaron Hall has re-signed for 3 years:

I'll update the OP now.
