So funny people defending, such honest well run criminal syndicate that is The West Coast Eagles lol

If you're gonna act like a hero then at least use your real account you flog.

Just goes to show the class of Chick, to be honest. He had Nine years to say this but waited until the week of the Grand Final The Eagles will be playing in. Sour grapes much, Chicky?

By the way, how is any of this new news? People already knew the details of what was going on in 2006.

I also work in this field and see people who function very well - in fact I'm sometimes shocked at some of the positions they hold and how people are unaware of the drug use and how much they actually use.

The herald sun has actually come out and said he wasn't paid for the story

Function v perform at afl level are different

Agree on its shocks me also but I'm not convinced someone performs better on drugs

The Eagles can get pissy if they want but they are bloody lucky the AFL didn't take their 2006 flag. After all the s**t Essendon has gone through, I can't believe West Coast can get away with having their players dosed on stimulants during matches. How can anybody think that Meth wouldn't be a massive advantage? Anybody who thinks it had no influence is being naive.
Has this been proven that they have taken performance enhancing drugs, has ASADA or WADA come in? . The AFL did do an investigation in 2007 and 2008. Yes illicit drugs was an issue and yes the club has now moved on an cleaned up its culture one that is a benchmark.

Unless it can be fully substantiated and proven that the players were on performance enhancing drugs in 2006 the Eagles have massive grounds for legal action. If it is proven and fully supported by evidence then by all means go to town on them because that is unacceptable in any sport

Firstly we need to stop using general terms like "drugs". Not all illicit substances are the same and they shouldn't all be tarred with the same brush.

It's been proven that Meth can give you...

- Boundless energy
- Aversion to pain
- Increased concentration

Any of these traits could give a footballer an advantage.

Also if you are seeing people struggling to stand up in public, chances are they weren't even on Meth.

This is a very naive approach to the 'benefits' of meth while conveniently ignoring all the negative side effects of continued use.

Firstly withdrawal symptoms don't start until you stop using.

Secondly, these guys are super-fit athletes. They aren't immune to the negative affects of Meth but they can probably take a level of punishment that is far beyond that of a regular Joe.

You responded to a clearly stupid post.

had to laugh when numnuts greg denham on SEN this morning trying to defend his beloved eagles regarding this issue. his defence on basically every question was because no one tested positive it is not an issue. what a w***er. if it was a melbourne club this happened too he would have had sunk the boots in real hard.(essendon comes to mind) hard to have any respect for any journo when they are a cheerleader for their own team.

Okay so it's a pretty big jump to say WCE don't deserve that flag. Gotta give credit to all the guys out there who weren't dosed up. Having said that though, only the most naive sort of person could believe that Meth doesn't have performance enhancing qualities. If ASADA/WADA don't include it in their banned substances, that's their mistake.

Not sure why people are upset about this, it's not like Chick is lying.

The timing maybe?

How would you feel if journalists started questioning Hawthorn's recent injury recovery times this week? Publishing it this week serves no purpose but to put one team off their game in what should be a fair contest.

You are clearly an expert and should work for ASADA....

Meth is not performance enhancing. You can't cherry pick the side effects that you think would be advantageous to an AFL footballer and ignore the side effects that would ensure they get pantsed by every elite athlete not on meth.

Well looks like Chick lied a fair bit.

He'll enjoy the many letters from lawyers, I'm sure.

The two key advantageous effects are stamina and weight loss/appetite suppression. Both are key to an AFL player. Don't see how they'd get pantsed during a game. They do their thing, feel like s**t afterwards, recover on other meds and go again.

Question to Chick.....if when you arrived at the club in 2003 you didn't like what was happening, why in gods name did you not speak up then? No you went and aligned yourself with those that were doing the wrong thing instead of going to the AFL with your concerns. Seems you still haven't been to the governing body? Did you go to ASADA? WADA? The AFL?

If the club ruined your life why did you stay there and win a flag? You should have asked for a trade? or leave?

To the boys who are playing this weekend, all the very best as they deserve more than this rubbish

Wtf kind of shitty ass low grade speed do you think these guys we're using? Or are you one of those people who thinks getting drunk and smoking crystal meth are the same thing?

Have you used meth over a long period of time? Or even once?

Have you ever taken Xanax? Or stilnox?

If you've abused any of these drugs you'd understand they so far from "performance enhancing" it's not even funny.
