Almost there Switzerland!

Monfils has had a decent 2014, he certainly looks like one of those players who will finally find more widespread respectability in his late 20s. Probably won't ever rise above his ranking peak in the lower top 10, but if he can stay injury-free his next few years should be productive.

Tsonga is playing with an injured elbow. Wouldn't be surprised to see Federer roll over him; his back looked much better in the doubles.

Not much chance for France now.

Ouch for France losing the doubles. Team selection such a double edged sword for them I guess. They have too much depth and had to choose between the reserve singles player in Gasquet and a doubles specialist (at that level) that wouldn't beat Federer or Wawrinka in singles if they got an injury (Llodra or ERV).

Going from working until midnight to starting at 5am has killed my tennis watching ability :(

Will be such an historic moment in tennis if the Swiss can close it out, the events of the last week would make it the stuff of legends let alone Fed winning it for his legacy.

Incredible atmosphere. Loving this. Monfils was incredible against Fed. Gasquet let them down in the doubles.

Surely Gasquet or Simon will play the reverse singles instead of Tsonga? Or does Tsonga have to play? Simon goes semi ok against Fed in singles.

Stan has been huge.... interesting matches tonight, I hope Tsonga can get the W to take it to a decider between Gael and Stan!

I would be leaning that way as well, you could just see Simon managing to work it out to 5 sets. He also recently showed some of that customary late season form, so he should be ripe enough to give it a crack.

Then again, Tsonga did win a Masters Title this year, against Fed no less, so you have to back him in if he feels up to it.

Whilst that decider would be awesome, Stan in a DC decider makes me nervous. He has really picked up his form again in the last few weeks and is trying to pull the Swiss over the line, but a deciding rubber doesn't fill me with confidence (similar to Almagro 2 years back). Then again, if Fed lost both singles rubbers and Stan won all his rubbers, it would be a big moment for him individually.

Is Simon even eligible? I thought the team was Tsonga/Monfils/Gasquet and Benneteau. Gasquet was horrible yesterday, so if Tsonga is under an injury cloud, I'd almost be inclined to give Benny a shot at Fed. He's done well enough against him in the past.

No he cant play. I would agree with you in regards to Benneteau but I live singles match in a davis cup final is a bit to much for him. He still has the horrible recored in ATP finals.

I don't think Monfils is getting enough credit for how well he played against Fed. He was amazing. Massively fired up - it seemed only a matter of time until he choked, but it just didn't happen. He rode the wave of home crowd support right to the end. 45 winners over 3 sets - he would have given Fed a run for his money, injured back or not.

I think the Czech's have historically chosen the faster surface but despite this I'm surprised as well that they didn't opt for the clay on this occasion. It's actually turned out to be quite a nice draw for Australia now as the winner of the Aus-Cze tie will play the winner of the Italy/Kazakhstan tie and if it is the Italians then I'm pretty sure we will have the choice of ground so we don't have to worry about the clay. The Czechs will still be tough to beat though.
