So this game is set to be announced in a few short hours.

As is the usual go with announcements, there's been a break of embargo, from IGN of all people. In the form of an 11 minute 'concept art analysis'.

And from this video comes a bunch of details of the actual game. It's going to be an FPS with an 'always connected' system, as well as being kind of MMO-ish. It will also be on PS3 and 360, as well as next-gen systems (no doubt when they're announced - no idea if this will include Wii U though).

Here are the details derived from the video:

• “Mythic Science-Fiction Universe”
• FPS
• Always connected
• Can play by yourself or with friends
• Sort of MMO-ish
• Doesn’t require a subscrpition fee
• Coming to PS3, 360, and “future generation technology”
• “Vex”, “Kabal”, “The Fallen” are different races/factions of enemies
• At least three classes
• Can travel to Mars
• Somewhere on Mars in the Dust Palace there’s a dungeon-like, raid-type experience
• Spider-pirates enemies
• Game has magic
• Traveler (protective force) hovers over Earth, savior of the human race
• Protected humans from being obliterated
• Can wield some of the Traveler’s power, which is basically magic
• At least 3 classes: Hunter (Sniper), Warlock (Magic), Titan (possibly Assault class)
• Has space zombies
• Has Destiny’s version of Halo’s Ghost
• Time travelling robots: enemies
• Social elements
• Competitive/co-op play
• Destiny be around for 10 years

So what do you think of Bungie's 10 year project, signed with the devil Activision? Could this be the franchise to take over from COD? Have they gone too weird? Have they not gone crazy enough? Will the always online aspect turn you off? Or does that make it better?

Bungie says Destiny is coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and made no mention of next generation consoles or PC. Bungie said that it makes console shooters, so playing with anything other than a controller seems unlikely.

I'm really excited for this game. The game sounds like a bit like APB reloaded but could and hopefully will be better in its execution. My only issue is the fact that you'd probably need to subscribe to Xbox live if you wanted the Xbox version.

Haha, hoping its announced for next gen. Unfortunately I cant see myself using/keeping the PS3 after Last Of Us and GOW: Ascension are released. Hence hopefully its on the PS4 so I can play it with a few of you blokes.

Whoever is running the PR Department at Bungie or Activision is doing a horrible, horrible job already.

So many conflicting reports and statements:

“We made the game run without a mouse and keyboard. And now nobody plays shooters the way they used to play them before Halo ’cause nobody wants to.”

"We would absolutely love to be on the PC. If you talk to the people upstairs, we play it on all platforms. So, stay tuned."

First few months to mid 2014 seems to be the general consensus.

Activision won't want to cut COD's lunch, so give it about 4-5 months in between COD and Destiny and there should be enough of a break to catch the crowd in the lull of COD playing to want to move onto something fresher.
