Game Day Dimma's EF spray

good coaches try things when they need a different outcome to the one that they can see unfolding in front of them, that usually come off and they obtain the different outcome, hence they are good coaches. s**t coaches sit there most of the time and hope that something different will happen without trying anything different and then when they do try things, allbeit 3 or 4 times in a career, they f**k it up...these types of coaches tend to be nice dudes that have a good rapport with the playing group, da de da dade dahh and all that s**t that we went through with Spud back when only to understand how shitful he was when it was plain as day from the beginning...how can we forget Spud's plan A - Kick it to Richo and if plan A didnt work, his plan B - kick it to Richo...what we have now is the same with a twist...Dimma will turn to the stats and ask about the %es and how they are stacking up because when we hit a KPI in this area and that area, we tend to win..all good when you are racking up the points to get into the finals, but when finals arrive its all about making things happen that makes you stand out....Dimma can only sit there sucking his thumb...I mean, lets take JR as an example...we all know that he has that uncanny ability to make things happen out of nothing...but he has to be where its at to do that...so when he is getting towelled up deep in the FL, double and tripled teamed and Dimma then looks at the stats and sees Ty is getting his arse reamed as well...why not swing JR to CHB or onto the ball or ******* somewhere where we might get a 1% increase in output, we wont even touch on the mosdt obvious of obvious and talk about Cotch and his 9 possessions in the final and Dimma refusing to put him deep into the FL or somewhere we things might just change...i mean the dude is getting tagged up the arse, nothing is happening,. TRY AND MAKE IT HAPPEN, CHANGE IT FFS fool...but nope, not Dimma, its always a glance to the stats lap top and then sit there hoping that the %ers will increase in the KPIs.
As Albert Einstein suggested, the epitomy of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome..and this doesnt only relate to Dimma but to Benny .;)

Has the thought ever crossed your mind that we were playing so poorly in the EF that good setups from the coaching panel actually kept us in the game? Have you thought that changes would have made things worse? We weren't entitled to be within a kick of Norf so late in the game.

We got destroyed in contested possession all day. Nothing can fix that from over the fence.

And to sum up your logic, let's take our only dominant forward on the day, JR, (who actually kicked 4 and with more supply would have won the game for us). You wanted him moved to CHB.

Wake up.

Dusty or cotchin 1 out in the fwd line
Rest around the guts and turn it into a scrap and stop the momentum, knock out Jacobs and Harvey
Just for starters?

LOL, where did you pluck round 12 from, just listened to his interview and not once does he say round 12, don't you realise they say these things just to get the media off their backs, if you think they haven't even talked contracts then i know a Nigerian banker who you might be interested in.

It sounded like they have already made the decision and it will be announced in due course and Benny didn't want to let the cat out of the bag, lots of um's and ah's in there and handled the situation well after OX was putiing words into his mouth.
The gist of Gales comments suggested the club wasn't going to race into things until they see how things pan out
Let's see who is closer to the pin
My guess is about round 12
Yours seems to be in the next few weeks

Do you honestly think the club are going to let this linger into the season and have the media bring it up at every presser, it would be the single biggest mistake the club has made under Dimma's reign to let this even go past round 1, clubs don't do well when they employ the ' let's wait and see ' line to a coaches contract.
The media when given a sniff of blood in relation to a coach never give up until they get what they want, do you really want that to happen to us, remember the rampaging media when Wallace was in his final year, Frawley before that.

Fair point. There's always the counterpoint: If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.

I'm in the camp that says "Let's be patient."

Anything but the carnage we used to have.
There will be more carnage than ever if he's signed up for two more years and it all fails. It will be a 9 year rebuild instead of the traditional 5 year one
This failure has a greater probability of occurring based on our past 35 years , me meaning we give little yelps then disappear.
We still have massive gaps in our list and too many inconsistent small motor types that are found out when the v8's are roaring
Questions regarding on field leadership are still asked when the chips are down
Where is our ruckman support act ?
Senior characters like Grigg Houli TV Cotchin Chaplin are a worry under finals conditions
Will our yarrans Townsends Moore actually improve us? I hope so , but there are question marks
I'm not going to bore you, but if I was Benny Peggy DH Blair Chocco and Casino I'd be worried bc it doesn' take much to piss a season up the wall
You would have noticed DH had pissed the last three up bc of his non existent tactical nous in finals pressure
If what the club has addressed over the Summer pays off then I will cop it on the chin and I hope I do , but I'm still going to go out swinging bc I believe they haven't done enough.

Six scoring shots in the second half
I think we needed some someone in the box to wake up

Thanks Dimma

Wish you could...The list would be endless...boomer, Waite, Cloke, EFC, Blooze squad etc etc
Yeah they were great days, but different days.
You knock blokes out now by running harder, running longer, batting deeper, spreading further, competing harder, trying harder, etc etc.
And we have a glass jaw.

I'd prefer the club undertake due diligence according to what they have set out to do - however long it takes.
If it takes weeks or months so be it - I back the club to run itself according to its structures and plans it's put in place rather than to the tune of the baying media
Anyways, I expect us to have a great start to the season which will have a bearing on how soon the club acts.

The media were up and about during the wallace period because it was an excruciating 5 season flop - hardly surprising they sniffed blood

They sniffed blood before the 5th year even started and that was on the back off a 8 wins out of 11 end to the 2008 season.

In regards to your preference to wait and see, are you happy for the players to be hassled at every after match interview, every before game interview, every appearance on radio, every appearance on tv, getting asked what is going on with Dimma, do you feel extra pressure to perform etc.

Put it this way, if the club lets this linger into the season ( i dont think the will by the way ) i will be heading down to sportsbet to load up on us to miss the finals.

Think Dimma and the players are all tough enough to handle a bit of media scrutiny

It's in their hands after all - all they need to do is win matches and it'll be all sorted

naaa dip stick...if you read my post fool..it suggests when JR is getting towelled up, not when he is "our only dominant forward"...not to mention the stupidity riddled reference you make to "have you thought that changes would have made things worse"...how ******* worse can losing be stooopid??? We had our captain getting tagged up the arse and getting a total of 9 disposals ON THE BALL...now I am no super coach, but tipping swinging him into the FL deep and letting him get his 4 or 5 there might have changed something, good or bad, something...at the end of the day its as plain and straight like this...WHATEVER THEY DID IN THAT GAME THE BRAINS TRUST FAILED, BECAUSE WE LOST. NOw off course, imbeciles amongst us will blame the players, pointing at the "spray"...but at the end of the day, Punt Rd is becoming spraysville, with the games that are being pissed up against the wall, because we didnt turn up, and the buck stops with us and all that s**t that we have heard year in year out when we fall at the fist hurdle and have to chase and then fall at the last hurdle....This is where the time comes where people with some kind of logic might also suggest that someone's message aint getting through....not this BS that nothing can fix this from over the fence..

Stopped reading after "dip stick".
Back to your usual form when under pressure.

I think he is frustrated by your comments about "how changes made by the coaching panel may have kept the team in the game" and " it could have been worse".
You are entitled to be a Dimma advocate, which you certainly are, and you don't even have to be one of his relatives, which you may or may not be.
However, comments such as you made will provoke some fierce response, because they are stupid.
But, you have every right to make them.

Really, how'd Dusty handle the media scrutiny just recently. ?[/QUOTE]

LOL - that's a totally different matter...you cant compare idle chatter about re-signing a coach to a serious police matter

You're trying to rationalise his behaviour?
And just a tip, when you use " " it signifies an exact quote. If you're going to get involved at least be correct. Now scroll back up and see what I actually did say.

I wasn't trying to rationalise his behaviour. He can refute what you say any way he likes. I agree with him but I put it a different way that's all. And my apologies for the use of " ", it was simply my way of referring to your comments. I think while I have stated your actual wording incorrectly, I have captured your sentiments. Please let me know if I'm wrong. And I certainly appreciate the tip, it was more sensible than your previous comments as I interpreted them.

You misinterpreted just about everything.
There's a bit of nuance that you don't get, the other bloke has no idea, and really, life's too short.
I'm sure we'll dance again when the knives come out for the coach.
Cheers.

I'm out.
