I gave specialist batting a shot, but even while protecting my wicket as best I could, my average was garbage, and my chances of selection plummeted.

As a batting allrounder, the bowling has helped me to Test selection, and I'm not going out in ridiculous fashion as often.

Had the same problem. Started specialist batting for once at #3 and only had an average of 12-13 after 5 innings, but then I scored my first half century ever in the game and went on to make a century. Was so bloody satisfying. Also scored 50 off 25 a couple of games later in a Matador Cup match, so this career's looking alright.

Made 8 teams of all-time greats out of the BBL clubs and just watching the first game now. Watching blokes like Charlie Macartney and Wally Hammond dominate, while Brian Lara and Jack Hobbs fails to impact the scoreboard is bloody entertaining.

Larwood and Murali got wickets with their first balls for the Renegades, before being dominated by Macartney (playing for the Sixers). So awesome. :D

EDIT: Just as it looked like Macartney was going to bat the Sixers to victory, Holding gets his wicket and Hugh Trumble takes two wickets and bowls a maiden to change everything. Loving this.

- Is there anyway I can view stats compiled across all forms of the game together?
- How do I go about just viewing stats from one team? I have a created team with 12 players and I just want to look at their stats in a list (over all forms of the game). Instead I have David Warner and related randoms in the list.

What's the game like as a simulator?

In both the games I've simulated so far, the team that wasn't favourite has won, but it's been close. All 4 scores have been about 160. Sixers/Renegades match went into the last over.

I haven't played this on any platform as yet but reading this forum has really got me excited about the upcoming release.

Is it possible to play against mates on the one system? Not online, but say just playing against each other in the same room? Old 2 player gaming I suppose, or is the only way to do that being on 2 systems over the net?

View stats for what exactly? Are you talking Career? Competitions? Or just after you've played a few games with various teams?

You can view earned stats in the Awards & Stats menu option.

Stats that created players have earned in casual matches. From memory isn't the awards and stats section overall stats and not stats for players? The only way I've found to see the stats of my created players is to edit them in the academy then look in their stats for each form of the game individually.
So, for my created players that I use in a team in casual games...

Getting annoyed at the simulation during OD and T20 matches. It seems whoever bats second always loses, and not from losing all their wickets. For example, one side sets a target of 150-160 in a T20, the opposing side will come out and finish with a score of around 1/100. As I said one dayers are the same, one team sets a score of 260+, the other side comes out and scores 1/170 odd. Especially annoys me as an opening batsman when I come out and score a quickfire 50 or 100, only for the next pair to bat at 2 runs per over which costs us the game. The only way to avoid this seems to be either not getting out, or getting out with only 10-20 runs to win, and even then that's pushing it.

Edit: And it's just happened now, I just lost the BBL final because of this s**t. Bowled the Sixers out for 119, I come out and hit 20 off 9 balls and we proceed to lose the game after scoring 1/117.

Any differences between the versions?

I'd need a damn good reason to buy the game for a third system.

Gameplay and feature wise, it's still Don Bradman Cricket, we've not overhauled the game as it stands. A majority of work has gone into purely getting it onto the next-gen systems.

There's a few neat little additions like 3D grass, smoother framerate, better looking character models and just an overall better looking game. But otherwise, gameplay remains the same.

From this a few pages back, seems like the improvement is just graphical.

Got this for my son for christmas, finally got around to playing it. So first thoughts:

Slow, clunky, woeful graphics, especially pre-match whilst loading feels very early 90s. Commentary doesn't always run. "Here's .... to tell you about the game....(2 minutes of silence)".

Even on a 60 inch tv, I cannot determine fielders and ball in the outfield, unless I'm standing 1m away.

Played on the default level and the easiest level (rookie?). Bowling a lot harder than before, batting way, way too easy. 6s galore, even as a tail-ender.

Running stupidly quick (all run 5!), but inability to see fielders makes runouts most common dismissal - especially from ridiculous dives/flicks at mid-wicket and cover.

That said, I will be addicted in no-time.

Rookie is effectively baby mode, you should be hitting 6's on every ball. Once you start bumping it up the challenge will get harder (Pro and above requires footwork and timing).

Never really heard of the issue with fielder visibility, however you can hold down LT/L2 to view the field before a ball and on top of that you get to choose your running between wickets camera to something that gets you a better view of the field and fielders.
Can you create players? need to bring back my old mates G.Allen and Sexton to the West Indies team
Yep.

Yep.

Thanks HBK, that was on the default level. Maybe I just got lucky as they kept bowling full, straight deliveries with no long off or long on.

I ended up doing the L2 field check every ball, just frustrating that a shot to deep cover I can't tell if the fielder is two, or twenty metres away. I'll play around with the camera this weekend and see how I go.
