Cripps, Masten, Bennell, Schofield, Ellis, Brown, McGovern and Waters you'd think all join Wellingham and Sheppard as our those most likely to go in and out of the side depending on form or match ups.

Newman would have to prove a lot in the WAFL before coming into consideration by the match committee IMO.

Newman being the new McGovern? Has some setbacks but works hard to see himself in the best 22?

My predictions of which 5 teams we`ll play twice in 2015

One from the top 6 = W&nkers with the Anchors
Three from middle 6 = Adelaide, Gold Coast, Essendon/Rich
One from bottom 6 = GWS?

Geez it must be quiet in Eagle country if this is my thread!? Looking forward to the fixtures on Oct 30 anyway

Barass, Powell, main and cat b rookies probably a way bit off still. The rest is depth only.

Rough breakdown of how or best 22 would spend their time, although I admit that players don't really play this way, and that this is kind of pointless...

I've got Sheppard replacing Brown at 3QT. md=medium defender and b=bench, the rest are even more obvious.

I like what you've done with the 4 forwards. We have the type of forwards who can create havoc in space.

We really need to set up like this more often, with the HFFs (namely Masto & Wellers) pushing up into the midfield for both offensive and defensive duties.

McGovern's value has to be as a CHF, playing him as a FB is the backup plan should he fail as a CHF. Remember, every KPD is a failed KPF.

You can pretty much tip list the 2014 team as the 2015 team. Retirees aside we have not added a player to the list. The premiers have traded and added to find that 1% extra so they can win again, we need to find 25% extra and have been non active.
I seriously thought Simpson would want to change the list but clearly he is happy with what he has.

The difference is, we already have to find space for Kennedy, Darling and a rotating Lycett/NicNat
Darling is ideally not a KPF, he has more value as a HFF. We already have EMac, Brown and Schofield in defence, along with Waters Hurn and Yeo. If McGovern can make CHF his own it will bring the most return for the team.

I disagree on McGovern his elite kicking and intercept marking make him a great third tall or spare defender . He can take the kick ins also which allow hurn to drift into the midfield where his kicking skills can be use forward of centre .
This doesn't mean he can't be swung forward but I think our forward line will function better and be less predictable with only 3 talls (JK Darling nic/lycett ) and 3 medium/ smalls with cripps Lecras Newman Karpany playing forward/ rotating midfield

Yeah, as much as i'd like to see Gov's marking in the forward line, his aggressive kicking and sure hands under the high ball would be much more valuable in the back half.

However, his actual defensive work, particularly when the ball has hit the deck is pretty average. For that to happen ^ he would need to really work on the defensive side of his game.

Great list. Could you add their first names?

With a fit squad i think we have some decent depth.

My best 22:

Bennell Emac Waters
Shep Brown Hurn

Gaff Priddis Rosa

Masten Gov Darling
Cripps JK Lecra

Ruck: Nic Nat, Shuey, Yeo

Bench: Lycett, Ellis,Scooter, Wellingham

Schofield, Butler,Sheed, Hutchings, Hill could all slot in but hard to fit.

Karps, Waterman, College, Tunbridge, Maginnnes i all want to see given a few games through out the year.

- Gov for me up front allows Darling to play his more natural game. He WILL play more mid time next year after having a lot of his year ruined by a serious footy injury. Affected his training loads where he needed to shed more weight. Have heard some good things with Darling and is prepping himself for a massive year.
- Masten plays his best as a HF and if he is kicking 20 goals again like in 2012 we will be going well.
- Scooter to be the main tagger.
- Shuey & Yeo offer that inside outside class we need.
- Hutchings played well last year but i find it hard to see where he fits if we are 100% fit and firing.
- I rate Schofield but i think we are a lot more balanced down back with some pace and skills with Hurn, Waters, Shep & Bennell.

This doesn't make sense to me. You say Gov up front will allow Darling to play his natural game, but then say Darling will play more midfield time next year. Darling isn't a natural midfielder's bottom-hole.
