Played 109 games for us over eight years, including the 1924 premiership. He only missed the 1923 flag because of injury. He then served a long administrative career with the club until his passing in 1971.

There also appear to be imminent inductions for Alec Epis, Mark Harvey, Gary O'Donnell, Doc Reid and Barry Capuano.

AFTER SURVIVING 2013 CRISIS, DOC REID IS A HALL OF FAMER
EIGHT months ago the AFL wanted to send him to Siberia. Yesterday Dr Bruce Reid was inducted into the Essendon Hall of Fame.

The events of last year didn’t get a mention as the Bomber faithful celebrated the career of its club doctor who has spent a remarkable 34 seasons at Windy Hill watching over 737 games.

His old boss Kevin Sheedy was on hand to present Reid and another of his former warriors, Mark Harvey, with their inductions.

He reminded the crowd at Dick Reynolds Club lunch about the little known fact that Reid had played three games for Hawthorn before a couple of handy rovers in Peter Crimmins and Leigh Matthews stole his position.

Well there you go, I had no idea Reidy ever played footy let alone played at the top level. His induction has no doubt given the drug foamer crowd the irrits, good stuff
